The Colonial Tramcar Restaurant

Nice service by their friendly staff. The food was good but nothing spectacular. For the amount we spent, we could have gone to a much nicer restaurant in Melbourne, with better quality food, but it was a fun and memorable experience.

My partner and I went on the tramcar restaurant for lunch yesterday, it was great! Nice to go out for a fancy lunch and have such great service! I saw someone in their review wrote about the power going off... yes it did go off a few times but it’s not bad so don’t let that turn you off it, it’s back on within a minute. Our waiters were Liam and Warwick, they were great! Thanks for a great lunch guys!

A unique dining experience in Melbourne. Great food with great drinks, and cheery caring crew. The seating might seem a bit cramped at first but it is a refurbished Tramcar after all, decorated in 1800s style an fittings. Top marks from me.

My wife and I were celebrating our 50th Anniversary. We wanted to celebrate this milestone “in a special place” so that we would always have beautiful memories. The Colonial Tramcar was the choice. The meals were absolutely fabulous, the service excellent. Our glasses were always full. Staff were extremely friendly; taking time to take our photos and chat to us. It made us feel special. The atmosphere and beautifully decorated tram almost topped off our special day. We used the word “almost” because the Colonial Tramcar traveled to ST Kilda passing Lunar Park. This is where my wife and I met over 52 years ago; we have never been back. We weren’t aware that the Tramcar took that route. For us; beautiful memories.

Good experience.. food was ok but there was a hair in my dinner roll. For the price i would have expected the food to be better quality. Staff were very nice.
