Absolutely delighted that there’s now an authentic Penang CKT spot in Melbourne to soothe my homesickness born and bred from Penang, MalaysiannBeen back twice now and hand to heart that we were very VERY happy with their:nCKT with cocklesnAssam Laksanchicken curry puffnCham is mix of Coffee & TeanHerbal tea Lo hon guonnThe breath of wok wok hei on the CKT is very good, the cockles not over cooked and we like that they’re not too oily.nnI posted this on my IG story and friends ask how do they compare with Lulu- this is way better! I hope Kakilang maintain their standard and continue to flourish
Excellent CKT and up there with LuLu’s.nnThe noodle soup and fried rice were also very delicious.nnThe only issue is parking around St Kilda road on weekends is limited so you might be circling the block a few times
Everytime we come here we order char koay teow because we just can't resist it but today I wanted try their hokkien mee as I'm also a fan of that. The hokkien mee was very good. Portion just nice. They gave a lot of fried lard. What I like most was they served us with meat from pork rib and kangkong vegetables Very authentic and will try again next time. The CKT needless to say. It's one of the best in time. The quality and standard is more consistent with Lulu CKT. This place also sells nice kuih muih and curry puff. I ordered cham tea+coffee ice which is very good as it's not too sweer. Highly recommended restaurant if drive pass this area.
I recently dined at Kakilang Char Kuey Teow and was pleasantly surprised by their menu expansion. My 2-year-old son absolutely adored the fish ball soup, finishing it on his own! My wife opted for the classic char kuey teow, which impressed with its wok hei and generous prawns. I tried the dry Hokkien prawn noodle, which, while cooked perfectly, had a sauce that was a tad too sweet for my liking. Overall, a satisfying experience.
Stopped into this place for a quick and easy meal! The prices are really cheap with each dishes being $15-$18 dollars. The flavours were great, loved the level of spice and the portions are very generous!
