Stunning view and best Western cuisine for a wedding reception!nAt the beginning, my wife and I were quite reluctant when we knew there was a minimum spend requirement for booking venues here because we did not invite so many friends and relatives to our wedding. However, after careful consideration, we decided to go ahead and we thanked ourselves for that. The Boat House was more than our expectation. There were many gorgeous background for indoor and outdoor photos. The staff were very nice and professional. The food was so delicious that they were still a topic of discussion among our guests several days later, especially those from Sydney. One of them even wanted to take their relatives there to enjoy the food at the restaurant after that.nMoreover, Maria, one of The Boat House staff, were very friendly and thoughtful. She guided us through explaining various wedding packages, suggesting delicious dishes or drinks to meet the minimum spend with our limited number of guests. She was also patient with us in terms of answering and arranging our last minute questions.nTherefore, we will surely recommend The Boat House to our friends if they want to organize their wedding reception or just want to have one of the best Western dishes in Canberra.

Great ambience with views of the water. The service was attentive and accomodating. We had the degustation menu and I thought the slow cooked beef dish was the best dish of the night.

OMG.  Christmas lunch!  Thanks so much!  What a lunch!  On the lake beside the poor soggy black swan.  Staff were fantastic.  Could not fault them from the lovely greeting at the outset to escorting everyone to their cars under umbrellas at the end!  Thanks for that -- it sets you apart from others.nnThe food was absolutely phenomenal.  There was no course that let us down and we're all still trying to work out which course was the favourite -- a good sign.  One of our guests has a small problem with eggs and they quickly pivoted to provide her with something that was just as good to replace what she couldn't eat.nnNo table was on top of any other table -- so that gives a great ambience as well.nnIt's a great way to do Christmas and we'd be happy to do it again!

I recently attended a 70th birthday celebration at the Boathouse. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially Matt our server, he was amazing. I have a lot of dietary requirements and the staff went over and above to accommodate all my issues. The food was amazing, especially my dessert it was sublime! A huge thank you to the whole team, especially the chef who created a wonderful menu for me.

This restaurant offers a delightful ambiance that sets the perfect mood for a memorable evening. I visited with my date and was truly impressed. Our server, Shran, was exceptional—attentive and warm, ensuring we were well taken care of throughout our visit.nnWe indulged in a splendid four-course meal over two hours, and each dish was impeccably prepared and presented. The culinary experience was simply outstanding, with flavors that were both vibrant and nuanced.nnOverall, it was a truly enchanting experience. The combination of excellent service, exquisite cuisine, and a charming atmosphere made our night unforgettable.
