I enjoyed the island and the guides were amusing. I enjoyed learning about the history of the island but would have preferred to know more about the convicts and guards stories. Take your own snacks as lunch is not the best (bread roll, processed meat, salad and muffin - no dressing). We paid 50% via Groupon. I would have been very disappointed if I had paid full price. There is very little shade so make sure that you have sunscreen and a hat. An umbrella is wise too (for shade or if it rains). It is easy walking. We walked about 8km in total for the day.

Amazing island to visit! We joined a day historical tour and it was thoroughly entertaining and educational. So much about Brisbane I hadn't known! It's also a funny scene, with wallabies hopping around prison ruins. Bring bug spray -- there are some crazy sandflies here! (Especially where we stopped for lunch). Highly recommended, for locals or visitors!

Very informative. Staff knew their history, good fun and educational especially for the school children. Staff are in costume and stay in character for the whole trip. Beautiful island with a long and sad history. A must do trip if you are visiting the Bayside. Well worth the $80.

Very interesting trip and tour. Guides (aka convicts and guard ) were very informative and entertaining. Good value for money and a unique piece of Brisbane history.
