Overall, the campsite was clean, with a nice kitchen area and close to the beach and city. However, the BBQ and shower ran out of gas during our two-night stay, and there were too many sand flies, which was a bit bothersome. The price is fair for the amenities, but a few small improvements would make it better. Stricter camp rules would be nice
Nice little place, very busy and lots for the kids to do/explore. The location is perfect, right across from the beach and not to far from The Strand. Unfortunately our little 2 bedroom cabin wasn't very clean, there were quite a few dishes/crockery etc that were dirty in the cupboards and ants all over the bench. Other then that it was okay.
Fairly basic park and well over priced. It's quite a bit more expensive than the coconut in Cairns which is an amazing park. The location is good for access to town. You can go across the road to the walking track then walk/ride into the strand area. There's a few park's along Rowe's Bay that are good for the kid's. The park inside caravan park isn't very good. It does have a descent pool though
We booked a powered tent site and ended up on a site with no shade and very dry and spiky grass. We asked if we could get another one but the lady at the reception told us everything else is already booked although we saw a lot of free sites during our 2 nights stay. We couldn't see the power point at first and asked at the reception, but both employees were not able to tell us more, only that our site is powered. It turned out to be at the other end of our neighbor's site, who was fortunately very nice and lended us 2 extension leads to add to our extension lead - this was the only way we could access the power.nThe toilets and showers were okay but quite dirty in the morning. The kitchen was quite new and very nice.nThe view of Magnetic Island in front of the park was really nice.nAll in all, it's not a terrible park but too expensive for what you get. We stayed at way better Tasman parks for a similar price.
Super friendly reception staff! Went out of their way to help us out. Great caravan sites. Love the diagonal layout. Makes it easy to reverse caravan into. Clean amenities, too.
