One of the nicest, if not the nicest beach front park/walks stretching almost 2km along the sea front with magnificent views of Magnetic Island. Kudos to the local Townsville council for its meticulous upkeep. Saw in 2025 watching the fireworks take off from a barge positioned off the coast.

One of the best spots in Townsville to walk along the beach - good cafes & restaurants to choose from & friendly locals enjoying the sea breeze nnDepending on the time of day parking may be an issue, but worthwhile to find a spot or park near the carpark at Jezzine barracks to walk a bit further to the beach
the best time to visit townsville - Springtime and Autumn. the temperature are cooler around this time. you wont enjoy the place if you come during summer December
As a visitor to the strand usually early mornings,found the people friendly,what a glorious sight to see so many dogs ! People were courteous on foot paths,council workers do,do an amazing job,with maintaining the area,sometimes the restrooms are not the best , they are maintained just sad that some of the public do not have respect for these ammenities provided to us.
