Story

Richnmond Regent is a twin cinema which is locally owned and operated. Orignially known as the "Regent Theatre", it was opend as a single theatre on 17th July 1935 with "My heart is calling". The heritage listed building was designed by Moore & Dyer and it is Art Deco style with Spanish Mission influence. The "Regent Theatre" is sister building to Parramatta Roxy (built in 1930). The Regent was converted to a twin cinema in 1995 and now uses the latest in digital projection.

Cinema 1 (downstairs) offers a Crying Room for parents with small children.

2 separate theatres with comfortable seats. Quite a bit of maintenance has happened in this place since recent new owners. Kept clean. Good variety of drinks available at ticket counter. Screen, sound and lighting are all very good.
Great little cinema. I went recently with my partner to see the Jason Statham movie and it was so lovely and so much more affordable than the big cinemas. The cinemas are very comfortable and just a really lovely old cinema
Loved it. The young people there were wonderful. Friendly, knowledgeable, definitely outgoing young business people. I'll certainly be returning there. I actually went to see "Cabaret" which was ALSO wonderful.
We had such a fantastic time at Richmond Regent this weekend. LOVE that there is a cry room so that I can take my young children to see a movie with my newborn. It was clean and a great experience. Will definitely be going to the movies more often!!
Love this place 12$ for any ticket all week,and popcorn etc has the actual prices on the wall!
Not your typical movie theatre. Great local movie theatre that's dripping in history. The downstairs cinema is larger then the upstairs one but both are great. A few seats are beat up torn/cup holders broken but I think it goes with the atmosphere. If your in Richmond but don't have time for a movie a quick stop to have a look at the building is always fun.
I remember watching movies here as a kid and teen, and going back still has that same fantastic feeling. It may not be the biggest or the newest, but I would always choose this one over any cinema chain.
Got ice cream there and it was great. Good service too! Was served by the wonderful Charlotte W and Cara.
The staff are wonderful , so friendly and helpful when my Grandson had his 5th Birthday party there yesterday.
So glad to see the improvements they are making to this cinema and loving being able to go local again. Is it perfect yet - no, but you can see the effort every time you go and customer service is first rate!
