Story

United Cinemas The Edge is the ultimate entertainment destination in the Blue Mountains, presenting the latest blockbuster movie releases, special movie events and retro classic films. The Edge Cinema is home to a giant movie screen, modern auditoria and private corporate functions.

Attractions at the cinema include an Arcade Zone, Art Gallery and a replica Boeing 737 NG-800 Flight Simulator.

We are conveniently located on the Great Western Highway just a short walk from Katoomba train station and the town centre.

Great cinema. Staff are friendly, efficient and helpful. The large gmax screen is great for seeing high res movies like Avatar. It's not 3D but I love that I don't have to leave the mountain to see the latest movies and some great independent stuff at a better price than larger chains.
We love this cinema and go frequently. It has friendly staff, is clean and there's a good selection of treats! Also you get a free Tim Tam with your cuppa. Great indoor entertainment.
A rather sad looking place in an unfortunate location...but it could be much, better if the management cared . And the local people deserve better. The foyer is a huge impersonal barn full of pinball and other machines and the toilets are, well, a disgrace. Hidden away in what appears to be a storage area, at peak times there are queues for the run down facilities. One stall and two urinals one out of order for the gents. Basin taps broken or not working. Whoever r runs the United chain needs to come and look at what they're offering here.
Great movie, Avatar. I arrived just in time so missed the "back stalls" and had to sit closer to the front! Eye strain after two hours. Get there early.
The movie cinema is in need of a bit of tlc. Staff is friendly and helpful and pricing is ok. Choice of movies not ideal for this IMAX style screen.
Spacious, well-staffed local cinema with lots of parking, games for kids, adults and/or families...and tastiest buttered cinema popcorn.
Went there to watch a movie with the grandkids they had fun playing on the machines and my almost 2 loved the motor bikes she is a little rev head plus they loved the bowling machines I wouldn't mind one in my house lol great day out
Went to the cinema here for the first time in a long while. Totally surprised to see Cheap Tuesdays was still a thing! Great service, friendly staff and wonderful cinema. Remember when you used to go out to the movies in the 80's and 90's? This is where to go to have that treasured experience again!
Popcorn was pretty good, But the movie screens were giant! Toilets were clean aswell
25th May 2018. Not Happy Jan I seem to be missing about 50 points from my movie pass. The deal is you receive 10 points for each movie you see. 50 points equals a free ticket. When i enquired as to why i was missing points, i was told you get 10 points for each purchase of movie tickets. If you buy 3 tickets at once you only receive 10 points. You need to purchase the 3 tickets individually to receive the 30 points. United Cinemas... you are cheating! 1st May 2018. New toilets, thankyou Staff are friendly and helpful and the movies are great However... ... the main space which used to have comfortable seating and was a good place to meet prior to movies has been turned into a game arcade. Electronic sound from the arcade games, which even the staff admit is pretty annoying, really does not make me wish to hang around any longer than necessary. Sad that a game arcade is given priority over a meeting place.
