Each patient who is fortunate enough to be referred to the Retina Clinic in Chatswood will find professional and compassionate doctors who are leaders in their field. I experienced problems with a hole in the macula of both eyes and the professionalism of Dr Hunyor and Dr Ho was of the highest level. The girls working on the front desk also displayed professionalism and friendliness and nothing was too much trouble. This was indeed the best experience I have ever had attending a medical appointment.
Having been diagnosed with Wet Macular Degeneration in both eyes more than four years ago, I was indeed very fortunate to have been referred to Prof Adrian Fung at Retina Associates for assessment and ongoing treatment. He explained the need for regular eye injections, patiently answered all my questions, and was positive about achieving a successful outcome. Whilst being treated with injections for Wet Macular the need for cataract surgery was then noted which took place with excellent results. Prof. Fung is at all times professional, caring, so kind and very approachable. I continue my treatment with confidence and greatly appreciate his expertise. JMB 29.7.2022
Support staff were very friendly and empathetic in ensuring I remained calm and well-cared for during my sudden medical issue. Dr Ho was also very professional and kept me well informed throughout the whole treatment and ongoing follow-ups. Highly recommend the practice!!
Avoid if you suffer from anxiety. Staff are rude and will not let a support person stay with the patient even in the waiting room. If the person to be seen has anxiety I do not recommend you go here as they will not let a support person be with them.
When I booked Retina Associates, I was told their consulting fees are $250 without any hidden costs. However when I had a final bill, it shows $630. The receptionist told me it included some testing fees. However no one told me there will be additional charges and costs before I took the tests. I did take same test in city a day before and they didn’t charge me anything for the standard test. It is a rip off. I also requested a quotation of the leds but I was refused to be told. They insisted it is included in hospital fee and no breakdown. Apart from that I only got cataract in my left eye but the doctor suggested me to take cataract surgery for both eyes…. Very tricky. Better looking for some second option from other professionals rather than just talk to doctors there
Can I call you all Angels? My dad situation was a hopeless, doctors from overseas all said they have nothing else they could do to help. However, Dr.Symes and Vinci gave all their best to find what really could be done and was able save him from getting a retina detachment. Not just Dr.Symes and Vinci, the rest of the team were amazing in helping me with the claims, packing the test results so that my dad could bring back home after his trip to Australia, and other more IMPORTANT stuff. I seriously would give a thousand more stars if there are slots here! I would really recommend everyone to come to this clinic for your eyes issues, especially Dr.Symes. This is truly what we called heroes who genuinely care for patients and save lives. Thank you so much once again!
