Pet Country Pet Store and Aquarium

I used to be a big fan of this particular pet store, always have had a great selection of pets that usually from what I've seen in the past are decently looked after for such a large collection, which I found great. Although, today I came in and I saw 3 kittens which at first looked ok! But at closer inspection one of them was displaying signs of terrible health. (Was wheezing showing signs of a respiratory infection, sneezing constantly and had weeping eyes.) which instantly broke my heart. My boyfriend told the store employee that one of the kittens were sick but she was very stern and replied that it just had a weeping eye, which was very far from the truth. This kitten was very sick and I have high doubts that it will ever be purchased, that's if it makes it much longer without vet care. And being housed with two other kittens with its health is the way it is, was concerning. I proceeded to go through the store and look at the reptiles, I noticed that the collection has grown substantially which is great that they are getting into more complex reptiles, amphibians and arachnids which is something I've never seen in any other pet store, but I hope they are caring for them correctly. Although I noticed one of their Knob Tailed geckos did not look as healthy as others I've seen before, laying lifeless on the floor at the front of the enclosure, only moving its head once to look at me. The main concern was the kitten and the store employee at the time, was not understanding or seeing the fact that this kitten was very ill. Made me not want to purchase any animals from this store as I don't want to endorse what I've seen. I hope they can fix these issues and be more honest with customers in the future.

This pet shop deploys a tactic to attract customers in buying animals by placing an animal in a permanent arrangement in a cage to stay in the shop. They allow this animal out for exercise and then it is placed back into the cage. A very unethical tactic used by the pet shop to yield more profits. They use the animal to attract buyers. When I spoke to the manager she said that it is legal but it is not in any way ethical. Every animal should have the right to go to a loving home. Animals are not commodities they are creatures to whom we are responsible for. We are responsible for ensuring their freedom and happiness in this world. We do not get to decide how other creatures should live or stay.

Dropped in to Pet Country on the weekend, great setup for a privately owned pet shop. All the animals were in beautiful condition. Even a longer staying 5 month old kitten was totally relaxed and happy with his surrounds and many toys. He was in amazing condition compared to cats in other pet shops and this is a testament to the manger, Sheree, who looks after the animals as if they were her own. Pet shops such as this do not take animals supplied from back yard breeders as such which is good to see but to try to find a loving home to an older kitten at cost price (cost includes desexing etc) is a beautiful thing to see. If only all pet shops were the same. Well done Pet Country!! 10 out of 10!!

It's such a great place to go!!!😂There are actually quit a lot of animals there and I have so much fun and the staff let me play with them and give me some tips and education on how to properly care for the animals so that's really important when ur going to buy a pet!!!!🙃😀over all it's a really cool place to go and bring ur kids!!!! I can't stress enough on hoe much fun they will have there!!!!!
