Security guard literally followed me around the store from the minute I walked in. I greeted him as I walked in the store and from the moment I stepped past him he continued to be within 1 to 2 metres of my personal space. It made the entire shopping experience really really awful. I’ve never experienced anything like it. After following me up up down 3 different isles, without saying a word to me but just staring at me I finally asked him if he was ok? He ignored me and walked away.nAs went to pay for my pencil and eraser huge haul! Total value of $5.22 he then asked to search my bag when I went to leave.nComplete and utter small brain.nManagement needs to step in there and sort that out as it creates a very poor shopping experience within the store.nI appreciate it’s good to be diligent on security and anti theft, but there’re ways of doing this without making the customer feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome.nAll for $5 worth of goods! Really!?
Last night, I ordered some items online for a convenient pickup this morning on my way to work. However, when I arrived around 7:40 AM, an older lady informed me that I’d have to wait an hour. It seemed pointless to have a click-and-collect service if I had to wait until the next day!nI told her I would just grab the item myself since it was clearly on the shelf. She then said they weren’t sure if it was actually in stock, which didn’t help the situation at all. I suggested I would just pay again and sort out the refund later, but she insisted that wasn’t an option.nFeeling frustrated, I approached another staff member, a younger lady, who was much more helpful. She even suggested that she could change the status to “collected” since I literally had the items in my hands. Unfortunately, the older staff member interrupted and told the younger one that it wasn't allowed, citing the rules.nI felt sympathetic towards the younger lady, so I decided to pay for the items and handle the order later after work.nThe second incident I experienced involved trying to use the Price Beat Guarantee. I presented the item alongside the competing price, but a senior staff member insisted it was a different brand. I was confident it was the same model. To resolve this, I visited the Officeworks branch in Brisbane City, where the transaction was completed without any issues. Unfortunately, I’ve noticed that some of the staff at the Milton branch though not all often come across as unfriendly or unmotivated, which seems to align with some of the negative reviews about their service.nIt's best to steer clear of this branch as much as possible, especially if you intend to seek help from the staff.
Outstanding Gen Z Service from Reece at OfficeworksnnI just wanted to leave a heartfelt thank you for Reece, who assisted my mum in-store while I was on the phone from another location. We were trying to choose the best laminator for a very specific purpose — gold foiling for my wedding invitations and signage — and Reece was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout the process.nnMy mum had me in one ear and Reece in the other, while I was simultaneously using ChatGPT to compare models and specs in real time. Reece didn’t skip a beat — he kindly took the time to show her different options, answered all our detailed and slightly niche! questions, and handled the situation like a total pro.nnWhat stood out most was Reece’s calm and competent Gen Z confidence. He was tech-savvy, solution-focused, and showed genuine care in helping us make the right decision. He didn’t rush, explained everything clearly, and treated my mum with so much respect and warmth — which meant the world to me, especially with wedding planning being a bit overwhelming!nnReece, you’re a gem. Officeworks is lucky to have someone like you on the team — the kind of next-gen retail staff who blend knowledge, kindness, and adaptability in exactly the way modern customers need.nnThank you again!
You can find all office tools, equipment and support materials. It also has affordable products. Even though it was difficult to choose pens from the wonderful variety of colors, it was nice to see. It is possible to print in small and large sizes in the store. There is also a dedicated section for printing photos.
