Avian Veterinary Clinic

Story

We are the only bird-only Veterinary clinic in Victoria and are located in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. We provide all aspects of avian care and advice. This includes medical and surgical care, hospitalisation, preventative medicine, behaviour advice, toys and enrichment, pelleted diets and nutritional supplements. The practice is run by three avian veterinarians - Dr Colin Walker, Dr Corrie Pinkster and Dr Stacey Gelis as well as a support staff of 4 veterinary nurses to care for your feathered friends.
Our opening hours are:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 8.30 - 5.30
Wednesday: 8.30 - 7.30
Saturday: 8.30 - 12
Consultation by appointment.

Fantastic and accommodating team of staff who specialise in a range of different Avian breeds. They have prevented my Lustino Budgie Slim from passing away due to liver issues. We are currently seeing Matt who has put Slim on a few different medicines to help his tiny liver recover and we are still conducting further checks and tests weekly - fortnightly. Slims most recent blood test is showing signs of improvement which is all I can ask for. The clinics staff are very friendly and helpful and are able to advise any dietary requirements as well : *I would definately recommend* Thank you team for all of your help so far!!
These amazing people have been seeing our chickens for the last few years since we found them. 100% recommend, they have helped us through a lot! Excellent, caring and knowledgeable staff. They go above and beyond, cant thank them enough.
Easy to find location with good parking. Vet was very knowledgeable and helpful with advice to keep my daughters bird healthy. I felt the check up was very thorough which is fantastic. I found the pricing very good.
Very knowledgeable Vets … and empathetic. Your birds will be well looked after here. It is a pity a Vet as good as this one is not closer to Nillumbik , but hey, you can’t have everything !

I just paid 150 to murder my little friend i would much rather have let him die peacefully at home but was called cruel for not wanting to gas him when he had fought to live for two weeks … the vet was a monster with no compassion for tiny creatures who he couldnt save ….i feel i did the wrong thing letting him euthanise him the way he did …. This clinic is no longer run by colin Walker and its staff arent very nice at all!
Excellent practice with very knowledgeable and caring vets. My pigeon was well looked after and I was given great advice.
I’ve been a customer of the Melbourne Bird Vet clinic for a few years. I’ve never had any problems with them and I always appreciate the work they do with my birds. They take such good care and provide amazing advice. I’ve dealt with Dr Maddie and Dr Pat who was assisted by a lovely vet nurse student, Jess. The environment is lovely and it always feels so welcoming… thanks guys for always taking care of my birdies, we really appreciate it
Cool staff, friendly doctor. Confident service. I was happy with the service I got although I had to wait and my appointment was delayed due to emergency. Phone answering could be better
