My bulldog had constant ear infections and needed an ear flush.nnBefore even turning up to first apt: $345nnFirst apt: $517nThis included consult and ear medication and bloods for ear flush. They shaved my bulldog in 4 spots just to find a vein to take bloods. My normal vet around the corner can do this basic ‘Vet 101 procedure’ in one go. Then after leaving was sent an email to say they had only taken half the bloods but don’t worry as I was only charged for the half the price and will need to pay more for the other half on the day of the operation. This left me feeling nervous and unsure of what kind of people am I leaving my dog with to be cared for.nnSecond apt: $586nThis was a consult, culture test and tablet medicationnnThird apt: $2205-$3888 we did not pay this Was meant to be ear flush. Drove all the way from Broadmeadows to Glen Waverley to find they stuffed up dates and had my dog down for another date 4 days later. There is no way I would have said yes to this date as I always knew I would be working that day. Was told it was human error, we can’t fit you in today for op and Rebecca “the specialist” would give me a call. Rebecca did not call me at all. With the incompetence so far I did not find this a surprise. I have not cancelled apt for tmw and yet still have not heard from specialist with the pre operative care information.nnMy opinion after my experience here is find somewhere else to go if you can. Or at least get a second opinion from another specialist. These people do not care about the welfare of your pet, just the money. The unprofessionalism and incompetence clearly stated here shows that and for the amount of money you pay the service delivered is far from acceptable. I have pictures, emails and receipts to prove all of this and am happy to forward to anyone that is curious or wants to investigate facts. In the end I have found another specialist at a closer animal hospital who will do this operation for under half the amount they quoted and I know they care as we have been to them many times before for other issues. Should have thought of them in the first place.nnBelow are photos of where my dog was shaved 4 times to find a vein for bloods. Pics are taken 3 days later so hair growing back but the question is, how many times was he stabbed just to get basic bloods?
The standard of care here is extremely high. My dog had a fairly complex surgery and my referring Vet said Charles is one of the best Veterinary surgical specialists in Australia if not the world. All staff super friendly and very efficient. Specialist care is not cheap like some reviews complain about but for me it was money well spent to save my dogs life. Highly recommended.
Dr Martinez was excellent! My rescue greyhound Tigger developed SLO and we were so worried, it was so hard to see him in pain. We requested aggressive treatment, and this was delivered! The medications prescribed worked fantastically and Tig had no drastic side effects. He has his quality of life back and I’m so grateful. The entire staff were great.
The team here did more than I thought was possible to help our dog when he was sick. We felt informed every step of the way. I dont think he could have been in better hands.
Referred to them by my vet after a long time of not being sure what was wrong with my girl domestic short hair cat as her symptoms were not in line with feared oral cancer.nThe vet nurse took a thorough history before she went in for an exam, then the vet came and took more details and gave us her opinion that it was likely cancer, we got a biopsy for confirmation.nnDuring biopsy the vet chose to also biopsy her lymph node based on a hunch and was able to see what she believed was irregular cells, sent that off for confirmation and the lab confirmed her findings.nnOral biopsy analysis was cancelled as they already had an answer and the cost of those labs will be refunded going to roll $ into treatment costsnnConfirming your worst fears is bittersweet: the devastating news mixed with no longer having unanswered questions.nnThey gave us medication- pre dispensed into single dose syringes as I had mentioned difficulty in measuring dosages in the past this kindness was very appreciatednnThe vet called me the next day with the results and discussed treatment, she also agreed to discuss electrochemotherapy with another on-site specialist and to research the treatment.nnThis clinic is no nonsense, you will pay a high fee but we got our answer. They were transparent about the chances that we may send off labs and get no confirmation a fact of life, nothing to do with the procedure or the clinics skills and assured us they would do they best to get to the bottom of the problem.nnOverall- we are very satisfied with the care we received, the reception staff assisted in me getting vetpay organised as we are a low income family and needed help getting funds up front.nnThis review will be updated as our girl progresses.
