The Luna Cinemas are an institution in Leederville! I love visiting this facility and have seen many fantastic movies. The venue's greatest strength is it's diverse and thought-provoking selection of local and international films. Unfortunately the cinemas need a significant investment to repair them, until then if you (like me) enjoy an character movie experience then this is the place for you. Staff a down to earth and friendly. A selection of snacks and alcoholic beverages available for purchase at reasonable prices.

Luna Cinemas is basically the place to see any film in Perth that's left of center. Their main cinema is a glorious call back to cinemas of old with first come, first serve seating in spacious plush red chairs.
They are fully licensed, so you can have a bevvy while you watch. They frequently host cult movie showings, like late night screenings of The Room or Rocky Horror. They show the interesting and art house movies that the main cinema chains tend to shy away from or only show in extremely limited numbers.
It's generally a lovely place. They still pop their popcorn fresh, as far as I know. Though I think their prices have gone up recently, I remember their concession stand being quite reasonable but from a recent visit it's the same $4 for a small soda experience you'd get at the major chains.
Still, fresh popcorn and hard to find movies. Worth a visit.

The Luna is one of the last traditional suburban cinemas in Perth, along with the Regal and Windsor. They all show mainly arty films, but also have some mainstream movies. The Luna's main cinema is beautiful, and large-ish, but the 3 other indoor cinemas are tiny so if you don't like this sort of thing check which screen the movie is on B4 you go. It is also a bit of a 'scene' socially, with the same 'arty set' in Perth turning up regularly, and it has a bar so people hang around after some sessions, unlike at a normal cinema complex.

It's always an amazing theater experience whenever I decide to see a film or a special screening of something at Luna Leederville. With a bar right beside the ticket booth, you can't go wrong with grabbing a drink or two to take right in with you while you watch a movie! Can't do that at any other mainstream cinema, can you! Always had a positive, and amazing, experience, from entering the cinema, until leaving. 10/10, my favourite place to see a screening. And they've even got an outdoor cinema during summer! Superb stuff.

The Luna is this quirky place full of charm. Or is that charming place full of quirks. The team here puts on fantastic cult movie interactive sessions and screens the greatest worst movie ever... The Room. Delicious coffee. Fantastic staff. Great pricing. Walk away with memories not just an empty popcorn container. 😄
