The theater seats are SO outdated. For the same price you can go to a different HOYTS with reclining seats that aren’t stained and dirty. Not to mention newer sound, newer everything.nnIf we’d known we would’ve driven somewhere else. This should be a budget theatre.
Who would come to this shabby theater for the same price?nIt's the same Hoyts Cinema, but the Garden City Hoyts here was the worst.nI don't even want a recliner.nThe old seats were stained and smelly.nIt was humid and hot throughout the movie because of the rain, but the air conditioner took a slight turn or two and stopped.nI couldn't concentrate on the movie because I had to hand fan it while watching the movie.nNo one the staff seemed interested in the audience.nAfter seeing my review, the Garden City Hoyts owner would answer the same thing again like a broken parrot. As was the case with honest reviews left by others.
This cinema is genuinely disgusting, so is garden city but this is just another level. They are so so old and gross. They were redone when my mum was young in the 1990s and haven't been touched since. They should have been redone a LONG time ago!! It's so below average compared to karrinyup and carousel, they have reclining, clean, cushiony chairs, while these ones are hard as rocks, look like they're about to collapse and smell. Seriously go to any other movie cinema than this one.
Altronics Redback brand speakers, in a proffesional cinema? Mate, $55 for 2x tickets and no drinks/snacks. Who in their right mind would pay for this.nScreen was not tensioned properly, exposed 240v condiut, rips in seats, dirty, falling carpet off walls.nAnd they scanned our ticket, which was for a movie that hasnt even been released yet, and let us through. Do your staff even read?
The seats at this cinema were really uncomfortable—old, worn out, and clearly in need of an upgrade. It made it difficult to sit through the entire session without constantly shifting around.nnA refresh of the seating would make a big difference to the overall experience. Hopefully some updates are planned soon.
