Our landlord decided to employ the services of Lucas Real Estate to sell their property, of which we are currently tenants. 

Initially met up with Chris Henson, who was friendly and courteous. He asked if someone could come in and take photos of our place, which we agreed.

On the day of the taking of the photos, I was met by another agent, Serena, and her entourage of 3 other people (floor plan guy, photographer, and some other agent who turned up later for no specific reason). They turned up 10 minutes late and it was clear they were rushing to get the job done. Unfortunately for us, they wanted to take photos of the property as though it was empty. They were quite rude and pushy, demanding items to be removed from tables, things to be dumped on the floor out of camera view, and basically ordering us around like dogs. Our apartment is a 1 bedroom plus study, and to have 5 people in the apartment at once was intimidating.

Firstly, all of our kitchen utensils were dumped in plastic bags and/or put on the floor. That was only the beginning. Next, they took photos of the bathroom, and put all of my wife's makeup and cosmetics in plastic bags. But yet, at the same time they decided to use some of our other things as props for their photos (pot plant, cushions, coffee machine).

Prior to the first Open for Inspection, I notified Chris via text that I wanted people to take their shoes off on entering the apartment. However, when we arrived home, we noticed shoeprints on the carpet. Since then, I have had to print out a sign and put it on the door so that our lovely agents don't "forget".

On Monday 31st May, one of their agents requested a private inspection at 3pm. I was not going to be home at the time, so I agreed. Pretty simple, right? Not quite.

When I arrived home at 5:15pm, I noticed that the door was unlocked. Unbelievable! For the best part of 2 hours, anyone could have come in and robbed us of our valuables. 

All I can say is, to people wishing to sell their property through this agency, be very careful! They have 5-6 agents rotating through the property, so you are unable to build any sort of relationship with any of them. This also means that no one takes responsibility when an issue needs to be addressed. Lucas Real Estate is the reason why real estate agents have a bad name.

Baden and his team provided excellent service through the sale of our property where he made everything clear and simple.  They provided continual communication up until sale and recommendations to assist our selling decision.  Overall, a great agent to work with who have excellent knowledge of the market and have ensured that we received the best sale result.

I have had mixed experiences with Lucas. We had 5 inspections with Lucas over the past 1 month.
of these inspections were on a weekday, the lady showed up 2 minutes late. No biggie. She was courteous and answered all the questions to our satisfaction. We have had to interact with their reception lady during weekdays and she too was pleasant to deal with. 
of the other inspections were on a Saturday and the lady who showed us the apartment was stone-faced. She did not attempt to mask her displeasure in having to work on a Saturday, and, there were no greetings, no niceties.  The timeslot published in their site for inspecting this single property was 15 minutes. She hurried a group of 10 prospective renters into inspecting 4 different properties in 20 minutes. Even the lady at the reception had a horrible attitude, she was condescending and talked down to us.
