I’ve been dealing with real estate agents for approximately 13 years - both as an investor and a tenant. Alex Karbon is by far the most incompetent company you’ll experience. 

If you are an investor, best you keep looking as the property manager has no idea on how to look after a property. She did not know the difference between an urgent/non urgent repair, leaving one owner out of pocket after being served a breach notice and having to have to pay compensation - which could have been avoided. 

It took them 25 days to arrange and rectify the return of bond payment to a tenant, all because of an error with signatories at their office. This wasn’t looked at until it was requested and the issue was blamed on the tenant when in fact it was as the real estates error. 

If you are a tenant looking for a rental property, my advice would be to look for another property manager by a more competent company.

I had a terrible experience as a landlord with Alexkarbon. As overseas residents we needed a trustworthy property manager - which Zac assured us Alexkarbon would provide that for us - which has unfortunately proved to not be the case.
In short, our assigned agent (Tasma Bogdanovic) disregarded our advice and placed tenants in our house without our approval. After we refused to sign the lease, she hid the fact that unapproved tenants had moved into our house from us, and refused to respond to our requests for information. At all times she showed a clear lack of understanding of Victorian law, which astounded us (my wife is a Victorian registered solicitor). Many other provisions we explicitly requested were ignored, and ultimately we were treated very poorly. We were left with no choice but to terminate their management of our property, placing us in a difficult position given as though we do not reside in Melbourne. 
In short, Alexkarbon is interested only in a quick buck from the landlord, and will unfortunately not provide you the service they will tell you about. When confronted, they will become defensive or non-responsive. Do not entrust your asset to this agency.

I am one of Tasma's clients - renting a property in Essendon that had minor flooding over the weekend. Tasma has been amazing as a property manager organising for tradespeople to come and fix the flooded carpet. 
As a tenant it is reassuring to know that you are being looked after by an amazing Property Manager. The stressful situation has been less stressful thanks to Tasma. There are other properties in my townhouse row that were affected as well and they are managed through a different agent. They are still waiting to be told what us happening with their property.

Tony Downward from Alexkarbon was highly recommend to me ,and indeed i would highly recommend him to anyone for a number of reasons.
His service was outstanding and i always felt totally informed about how the sales campaign was going.  I was impressed with the spreadsheet he put together and feedback regarding prospective purchasers.  I feel his friendly and honest approach helps with buyers breaking down invisible barriers and opening up dialogue.
Auction day was an wonderful experience.  All the staff who attended made me feel at ease, and the auction technique Tony uses is second to none. Using non-contrived and persuasive language in conducting the auction I was able to achieve an amazing result!  I encourage anyone considering listing their property with Tony to simply listen to him 
auctioning to be completely won over.  I would also say don't worry at all if you may feel Tony's office is situated away a distance away from the property you are wanting to sell as this had NO bearing on my result - it is far more important to use and experienced expert, than one who is just down the road, making the drive and effort more convenient for the agent.
