Story

As Veterinarians and Veterinary Nurses, we all have a burning love for animals. We have all undertaken this profession to care, nurture and heal creatures of all shapes and sizes.
At Hornsby Veterinary Hospital, we hope to combine our professionalism and skill with this innate love for animals, to provide the best care for our patients and exceptional service to our clients.
We hope that we can be approachable to all our clients and that we can promote a friendly, caring environment. The human animal bond is an unbelievable relationship and we wish to foster this in all that we do.

A client of ours once said, “at Hornsby Veterinary Hospital, you’re not a patient, you’re a pet”…. we believe this is true.

Hornsby Veterinary Hospital is one of the oldest Veterinary practices in Sydney. It was established in 1968 by Dr Harry Bruhl . At that stage it was only one of two Veterinary practices on the northshore. Dr Angus Martin purchased the Hospital in 1992. The small cottage, that a lot of our clients will remember, was demolished in 2000 and replaced with an “A” Class, “purpose – built” Veterinary Hospital. We are very proud of our new hospital and it enables us to provide our clients with a very high standard of Veterinary care

Highly professional Vet clinic - We have had to take our animals to you a few times with urgent medical issues....Both times, they were seen promptly and their issues seen to. When our Cat, Phillip came in with urinary retention, very close to closing time, the Vet stayed back late to attend him.....Would recommend to anyone! Thanks guys!

Fantastic staff have been a regular customer for many years and they are very professional. I have also used them for boarding my cat Cleo and have never had any issues about their care. Highly recommend this vet.

My fur babies were booked in for Vaccinations.  The vet went further and examined their mouth, weight and even clipped their nails.  The pups were given a treat afterwards to lessen their anxiety and they were very comfortable afterwards. It was only after x3 recommendations I went to this Veterinary Hospital and would recommend them also.

We love Hornsby Vet! Our late cat, Maisy, was a frequent visitor to the vet during her illness and the staff were exceptional, always she was a tortie cat and always made the vet staff work hard and keep them on her toes! A special shout out to Sarah, the vet nurse, and Dr Angus, who always made us feel at ease even when we lost our Maisy. We now have two kittens and while a vet trip is never fun, the staff always ensure we're all as much at ease as possible. This is due to their exceptional professional nature and friendly attitude. We can't recommend Hornsby Vet highly enough. Thank you for all of your hard work!  PS. We would definitely recommend investing in their "Best for Pet" insurance service, which has saved us a lot of money!

Highly recommend this clinic. Dr Justin is very professional and straight to the point. Did a good job in diagnosing and offering treatments for our cat.

An exemplary team of veterinary professionals who go above to make decisions and deliver care for your family pets. They also perform surgeries other vets would refer to specialists for thereby providing old fashioned veterinary care at a reasonable price, unlike specialists who are charging 3 or 4 times more. Having moved out of the area, we find ourselves returning because Angus and his team are a dying breed and worth the travel time. 5 stars are not enough.

Seriously a great veterinary clinic. One of the professionals there is Michael, he is a very skilled and caring vetinarian, cannot express enough gratitude as they are very flexible if you travel a long way or have an emergency case. The whole team are great.

Today is my first time here. Fantastic experience.  All staff are nice and patient. Dr Penny checked my two cats carefully and answerEd my questions very clearly and patiently. She also taught me how to apply ointment, gave me suggestions about food , etc. And the price is good as well.  Strongly recommend this vet!

Angus is an amazing vet and he always involves the owners in the tratamento decision. He also advise what is the best solution considering not only the pet wellbeing and health but also the cost benefit. Hornsby Vet Hospital look after my pets for years , I am living in Central Coast and I drive to Hornsby to ensure that my pets have the best service. Thanks !
