A belated but well-deserved overview of one of Fowles' carpet layers. Wayne Leithhead recently did a huge job for us. We wanted to share our experience & tell others just how professional he was. Ordinary customer service, actually it's horrible. Pricing of product and product range is great. You can buy or purchase via auction. Don't get caught up in the auction hype, make an offer.

BUYER BEWARE! After receiving a quotation we decided to go ahead, securing a installation date we were told the day before they could not install it that day (sent by text msg) Huge mess around 😡 They then told us they would install it in a week...a week too late. The installers eventually turned up after a huge argument, they turned up with the wrong underlay and no trims. Eventually fowels was got the correct underlay sent out. Approximately halfway through the installation the installers told us they were sent a much lower quantity of carpet then required. We quickly discovered that the original quotation was under estimated. Fowles decided that they would want to charge me extra for the missing carpet. However the quotation was not much cheaper than any other carpet retailers who manage to measure correctly. Eventually they sent out more carpet however the installers where inpatient and decided to do Multiple joins and cross joins with the leftover offcuts to complete the main living area / walk ways. Once the additional carpet was supplied the installers simply took at home with them un used. We requested that the carpet in the back family room be replaced as quoted without so many joins or cross joins. Weeks after installation we had not heard anything from them even after multiple attempts to contact them. Just after this we discovered that they had fraudulently taken nonauthorised additional funds off my credit card to cover the additional carpet meterage that was under quoted but funny enough was drawn into the plans. I had to start legal action to get my refund onto my credit card for the nonauthorised amount, I reported this to my credit card company quickly reversed the payment. It's been over a year and this has not been rectified the incorrect installation of the carpet in the back area with multiple joins and cross joins. Some other poor installation areas have not been corrected causing a tripping hazard in the walkway. No correspondence from fowles what's so ever, they have simply decided to stop contacting us and obviously refuse to resolve the situation. Absolute disgusting communication and customer service and product. DONT RISK IT BUYER BEWEAR!
