Besides being a great trek and a really good one this place is just so advanced and I can say there aren't good measures in place in case of emergencies. Also the huts and stays here are a confusion and not clear.

Mount taranaki, awesome place. We went up in the night at 3am to get to the summit at sunrise. Absolute amazing! Must do but be aware of the ascent (1600 meters climb and 8km to walk)
You can freedom camp up there. Good spot, ideal for doing tracks in the region

Amazing the Pouakai circuit, although it was more challenging than expected.. A lot of climbing and stairs.. Be prepared for a lot of humidity during the summer time.

This is a beautiful place with a great information centre, cafe and short walks along the mountain. Not far from New Plymouth.

Absolutely beautiful, it was a tad cloudy but you can’t help that much. The trails needed a bit of TLC as it had rained and the water was getting trapped in a lot of the steps. There the waterfall there was amazing! You can even slide down a section of it.
