Our family of 4 have a huge tent and after booking a site that was too small, the team at Belt Road quickly let us know and went above and beyond to ensure we would have a site that fit our requirements. The campground is in a great spot enjoying beautiful ocean views. We made the most of having the jetty and coastal walkway on our doorstep. The amenities were functional and kept clean and tidy at all times. We all loved our stay and wouldn't hesitate to come back to Belt Road next time we are in Taranaki.
Friendly staff, great systems for check in / out and safety. Nice family atmosphere with kids enjoying a summer camping experience, great access to coastal walkway, parks, pools, beaches - bring your bike, bring your togs for this spot! Also so many wonderful family activities in New Plymouth - walks, beaches, the museum is free and modern if you strike a rainy day, go during summer for the Festival of Lights at Pukekura Park also free!. The holiday park has clean facilities and lovely views so makes a great base for any kind of holiday. Overall an amazing place to stay!
We love this place! We've stayed here before and knew we would come back again. We just left to come home everytime we come and stay we feel like we never want to leave. Honestly every is just awesome here from the staff, the views, the feels and safety. Also how close everything is to you. It's perfect no doubt we will be back! Thank you Belt Road staff.
We had booked a powered campsite for four nights. Unfortunately, upon arrival the weather was extremely windy and unsafe. While setting up, our tent broke, so we purchased another tent, which also broke due to the conditions.nnWhile I understand the weather was not the holiday park’s fault, given the circumstances and the fact that we were travelling with a young infant who needed to be settled and kept safe, we had no option but to leave without staying.nnWe did ask for a refund. Although we were advised that the park has a no-refund policy, some flexibility or compassion in this situation would have been appreciated. Even a partial refund or a charge for the first night would have felt reasonable.nnAs a result, we were forced to spend significantly more on last-minute motel accommodation. The lack of goodwill or understanding in these circumstances was very upsetting and is not what you would expect from a holiday park focused on hospitality. For this reason, I would not recommend this holiday park.
Stayed here a couple of times now. Good facilities, great location by the sea and quiet after hours, recommended as a place to stop over. Easy walk along the walkway to middle of town and close to pools.
