Good services. However, really complicated process. Pro Tip: BRING YOUR LAPTOP!! and also make sure there is someone at home help to take photo of whatever you need. They have went to digital now. 100% digital. Can not manually write on application anymore. be aware of that. They also need 48 hours PCR test for entry FYI.
YOU ARE LIARS AND BULLIES. Top Chinese diplomat Wang Yi said earlier – before the balloon was shot out of the sky – that China “has always strictly followed international law”.
The passport renewal online service was working well although the Consulate General had been shut down for almost three years.
Never picks up their phone, and I mean NEVER!! Always a long queue with limited staff, make sure you be there early to try to get the simplest task done there. Small time frame for opening as well.
China! A reason to love this embassy is that it's tucked away in the back streets and alleys of a high density area. No chance of an impressive demonstration here. Whatever anyone says about the place and its employees, do not be put off. A bureaucrat is only a bureaucrat and to receive a service does not imply one has a servant. A country of any wealth and capability will act to protect its strategic interests above all else. Pots calling kettles black. Casting stones. This is a great restaurant.
I've just been there to renew my parents' passports. The last time I went to the China Consulate-General in Sydney was over 10 years ago. This time I am pretty impressed! The staff there are friendly, patient and smile a lot more - you know that is not easy for Chinese to do I myself am a Chinese and I had worked in China's central government for 7 years so I understand it. Before I went I read some online discussions about how to get a new passport. I think as long as you get the documents they need which are clearly stated on their website, and the photo as per the required size and its digital file in a USB dongle, it will be a very easy and smooth process. I have to give it a thumb-up!
Can't say all staffs there are perfectly match the service standard, but 95% of them are very helpful and nice. It's harsh to require someone t be perfect. I believe that there is always a path way to submit a complaint and get feedback. All applications should be submitted with required documents. I think it's a common sense to do so. However, I provided a lot of documents to apply my travel visas with couple of embassies. Well, I respect that anyway.
It's very Busy. My first time handing in and attending Embassy. Not sure what the procedures were. I was assigned to submit documents and then return to pay for collection. Some confusion around costs which I was told $60 Embassy staff said $20. Then I thought documents might be the issue. Staff told me to read Chinese. I couldn't understand Chinese and told them to read English.. I'm already rushing and late for another appointment. I just want to get it right. I was little rude but not against that person . I expect the service to be delivered error free in my point of view. Even when they are my kind, I still blunt. Everyone in my eye is fair. At the end, the confusion was due to the miscommunication of everyone. then I learnt that Chinese citizens pay only $20. Non Chinese pay $60. I feel bad showing little bit of attitude. I don't want any problem and I just right it right. tells me the price is not right. The staff was good and patience and I'm sorry for not being as polite as I should. should of explained it properly instead of freaking me out and frustrating me. I want to give it a 4 star because the although it was busy, some confusion. experience was pleasant. there's available seats. Staff was attentive to people.
Overall good experience, today I have done my process of getting new passport, my current passport expires in 6mths. My appointment was between 10:30am and 12pm. I got there at 9:45am a bit early as I wanted to get my passport photo done before appointment time. It was long queue and I lined up and got told the self serve photo machine has been down for two days so I had to walk out to a local shop closeby where you can get your passport photo done cost $30, expensive than I thought and long queue too. I came back with my passport photos and a disk, no need to line up again at the front desk, but but you need to ask the front lady for a ticket to go into the main waiting area, this is where you hand over your documents. I got everything sorted just before they close. Service ladies are kind and helpful however more staff is needed due to long queue and half day opening on weekdays.
Even I only went to the reception to ask abt my passport renewal, the staff there was nice and friendly. The line was much better than I expected, like 15 mins queuing. Also, they have the self-photo and printing service for free. If u don’t wanna waste time, u just prepare all the materials in advance. Don’t forget online appointment lol
