Security Man (Ahmed) at the front was absolutely rude! He was completely inconsiderate when i arrived and during my time there i witnessed him swear at some other customers who lodged a formal complaint. I also offered to sign the complaint given how disgusting he had behaved. After this someone i knew walked in and she told me she had been at the consulate 2 weeks ago and was also shocked how rude the security guard had been then as usually contact with the consulate is always so pleasant. I do doubt anything will be done about him though as the manager seemed to not really want the complaint put in writing and tried to defend the security guard by saying he has never heard a bad thing about him. Obviously they are friends. Despite this horrible experience, all the staff at the counter were efficient as always. It's just the security man Ahmed was the worst first point of contact for the consulate and for people planning to visit the country. For someone who has married an Egyptian Man, i felt this man absolutely did not present the best side of Egyptian helpfulness and hospitality.

I have just visited the Egyptian consulate today, I have found all Staff in the consulate were very professional and extremely Helpful, also Ahmed the security man was very professional, helpful and respectable

During our visit to the Egyptian embassy today, we have had the worst experience from the security man (AHMED) at the front entrance. He was talking very rudely with disgusting attitude, and shoved our personal items across his table, and dropped my keys then sat back and looked at me funny, without apologising or trying to pick them up. At the end while we have finished and we walked back to the lift, he wanted to aggravate us by saying very rude words in Arabic, so we decided to walk back inside and write a formal complaint, soon after he ran inside and called his manager, who didn''t seem to consider the situation, even though there was two witnesses, instead he started to defend (AHMED) saying " I have never received any complaints about him before" AHMED was also being racist, and choosing who gets security checked, and who doesn't, beside the fact that he leaves his disk unattended sometimes, and taking a number of personal phone calls while performing such sensitive position. This security man is not a good representation for the Country nor the Embassy, however everyone inside the embassy was very helpful and respectful. We are writing this review, hoping that someone from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs can look into the matter, specially after the lack of concern from his manager.

They closing Sat, Sun and Tue. not sure why Tue :). very reluctant. they brought Egyptian Red tape and bureaucracy to Sydney.
