Have needed to deal with them several times (passport, real estate, other documents, etc). Was always well taken care of, plenty of good will if you are polite and work with them. You need to remember they are a public service bound by specific rules, I think they do try to be helpful within the bounds of what they can. I'm not connected to them, just a satisfied customer.

This is the third time I had to visit the Consulate. They’re keen on taking your appointment at the scheduled time. They’ve been always awesomely polite and kind with me. But I’ve done my homework. I get there with procedures read and papers filled. Don’t be late. Be respectful. Do your homework. Read and fill the forms. Those people deserve it.

very poor service and people facing skills. Their answers looks like are coming from a template, not really taking the time to understand the actual request. Unfortunatelly that's the only avenue foreigners and brazilians have to use.
