I loved my four nights here in July 2017. I brought my two daughters along and we stayed in a two bedroom apartment which was much bigger than we needed. The beds were comfortable and the mattresses firm. There was a brilliant amount of lighting and ceiling fans. We didn't touch the air conditioning. The kitchen is well laid out and the refrigerator is a monster (in a good way). The washer and dryer worked fine. 
Everything is close by in easy walking distance including reef fleet terminal, lots of restaurants and shops and Cairns Central is over the road if you need a big general purpose shopping mall.   
Highly recommended.

Spacious apartments & centrally located
Fantastic water pressure in the showers
All the comforts of home within the unit so we could eat in when we wanted
Excellent dining within walking distance
