If I could give them 0 stars I would. After not sending me a booking reference or a final invoice, Budget tried to charge me $4000 for pre-existing damages to the car. You read that right, $4000. I contacted them multiple times received no explanation. I was forced to put the charges in dispute with my credit card company, and only weeks later were the charges removed. To this day I have still not heard one word from Budget as to where they messed up this bad, but DO NOT trust this company

I got a verbal quote from Budget (Hobart Airport) to hire a car for a day. When we collected the car 6 days later from Launceston Downtown, I (verbally) confirmed the quote with the manager & wrote it down again. He seemed nice & honest. The following day we paid for the rental at the Hobart airport drop off, it was $28.31 more than the quote. A day later I rang the manager & queried it. He apologised, but said he couldn't do anything about it. After taking my complaint to Budget's customer service, they have not rung me back. As I'm busy, I don't have the time to continue the fight for justice, but we'll never use Budget again & we'll always get a written quote in future.

Utter SCAM. Never had such a negative experience with a car hire company.
In short the employees at the desk  charged my credit card for "damage" to the underbody, without any notice twice (Convenient since it isn't covered in the insurance I bought additionally). 
Employees were brain-dead and rude, company culture perculates through to the customers...

My friend rented a car and just returned it.  Budget claimed the grill was smashed in and there is NO WAY we did it.  We washed the car and would have noticed the damage.  They are claiming she is lying because she signed the form saying there was no damage but she would only have checked the more obvious things.  They are now charging her $650 for something she did not do.

Do not use this car rental company.
