After my family Dr of 35 yrs retired I have been struggling to find a decent Dr. I have been to three different practices in last three years & I am appalled at how Drs operate these days...nFinally I found Bayswater Medical Centre but it had so many bad reviews, but I decided to try them...nWhat a fantastic medical centre from front receptionist to nurse to the wonderful Dr Snell, finally a Drs centre that is friendly & Drs listen & are happy to help you!nDon't know why there are bad reviews at all.nWill be going here from now on for sure
Just want to say how disappointed I was today after speaking to Dr Snell for two minutes via Telehealth and paying for a new referral to my specialist.nWhen I opened up the email and read the referral I noticed that it said Allergies: Not recorded.nThere are two issues that stem from that. One being that when I rang and asked for it to be included I received a return phone call to say that I should just hand write it on myself! The other reason I find this upsetting is that they emailed it also to the specialist so that referral will not have my allergy noted!nYes I am new to this practice but I only saw Dr Snell 3 weeks ago to introduce myself and to update her on my medical history and we spoke specifically about a severe reaction that I had to my allergy very recently. Personally I just don’t think that it is good enough!
So bad customer service. I have an appointment at 12:10. I came at 11:50 and wait for more than 1 hour, not it is my turn and no notice how long I have to wait more. It affected to my meeting at 1:00pm. Other clinics, reêcptionist will notice to patients if time is not as in schedule.
I am so grateful to have found a competent GP who listens to, validates, diagnoses and treats my various conditions; and that GP is not employed by Bayswater Medical Centre BMC.nnFor approx 5 years, I subjected myself to a collection of the most dismissive and inept doctors I've had the misfortune of dealing with, in my entire adult life, at BMC.nnLadies who are childfree by choice: if you're looking for a doctor who's going to remind you that your time's running out and you really should start having babies, then BMC is for you!nnI once attended BMC, suspecting that I have melasma - the evidence of which is plain upon my face - potentially caused by oral contraception and was, initially, dismissed. Although, I did receive a referral to a dermatologist, who confirmed melasma.nnThree different doctors interpreted the same urinalysis results, with one originally disbelieving me when I presented with a UTI, a second prescribing antibiotics for urgent collection to treat the UTI, and a third who said that the second doctor should not have prescribed the antibiotics which treated the UTI I absolutely did have.nnThose same doctors all dismissed me when I told them I suspected that I was autistic for which I have now been formally diagnosed, regurgitating inaccurate, outdated and harmful myths like 'You can't be autistic, you can make eye contact/are university educated/have a career.' I nearly abandoned my diagnostic journey entirely after being met with this dismissal; a diagnosis which now entitles me to support, which I could never have received if I was still under the care of BMC.nnFor years, BMC have ignored symptoms and diagnoses comorbid with my neurodiversity. In only two appointments with my new GP, we have developed a care plan which supports me and treats me holistically within the context of my neurodiversity and its various comorbidities. Two appointments, and I've received more healthcare than in FIVE YEARS with BMC.nnThe final straw was when I called to request BMC to transfer my medical records to my new GP. BMC said I needed to sign a form with my new GP authorising the transfer of records, which I did. BMC notified me that they'd received the authorisation, then sent me... another form to authorise the transfer of records. They sent a scanned copy of the form, and I said I did not have access to a printer and asked if they have an editable electronic version. BMC responded and said they did not, but suggested I could send the authorisation to them in the mail. Read that part again.nnI hope that this is the last interaction I ever have with BMC.
We no longer attend this clinic as we have a new Dr close to home, but I feel a bit upset reading the comments about Dr Hosking and Mental Health appointments. My son saw her for Mental Health issues when he was 14. She was wonderful, supportive and very helpful. Thank you Dr Hosking
