Thought this place would be more neighbourly and inviting given the demographics of Ashburton. Charged me $40 to break my chain and take off my crank arms from my damaged bike. This took the guy all but 45 seconds to do.

Great service. Got a puncture on the track nearby to Ashburton. Brought the bike to the shop and it was fixed very quickly and efficiently.

I called in to the shop to get a tube replacement and was given the same service as the guys who go there for the high-end bike purchases. I am sure that I could have been persuaded to buy a tyre as well but the good old fashioned shop owner was happy enough to solve my immediate problem at no extra cost. If you are riding the Ashburton bike path, just before you cross over High Street to the Centenary trail ( a good comfortable ride ) take note of the bike shop almost on the pedestrian crossing. It could save you unnecessary heartache on another occasion when you imagine that big shopping centres have everything.. Think Ashburton Cycles !

Disgraceful service. Rude and dismissive manner. I asked if he could pump my tyre, and he said of course he could, and while I stepped away to check my bike he binned my tube, put a new premium price one in, and charged me $30 for the pleasure. $10 for the tube, and $20 for "getting his hands dirty" aka two minutes of work. When I asked if there was a leak, he said no but I would need a new tube to avoid my tyre going flat, clearly trying to take advantage of me because I looked like I didn't know bikes.
