Abbey on Roma Apartments

For around $100 a night I was happy with it especially being so close to everything. Nothing flash but had a fairly comfortable bed and good pressured shower. My room had everything I could want including washing machine and dryer. Biggest winning factor was the location. On the down side If you're a light sleep the street noise might bother you. But I would definitely stay here again.

Was quite concerned about some of the reviews before we booked. But decided we would give them a try ,seems it was one night and close to rail walking distance to cbd etc. stayed on 8th floor . Room was pleasantly welcoming , most importantly clean and tidy. Although facing Roma street station . The room was efficiently insulated to keep out the noises from the busy street below .so managed a peaceful nights rest :) The room looked like it had a recent tidy up . Hotel guest area ie pool spa and sauna. Are dated and not as fresh as in the pics. But all worked and were clean and tidy. For a hotel close to everything , clean and tidy reasonably priced. I think you can't go wrong .

3rd time staying here. Staff are always friendly, rooms are good. Great spot close to everything.

Staff pleasant, some rooms don't have washing machines in family rooms and some fridges are small and no freezer. Make sure you specify what you require when booking, they will generally accommodate for you. They service rooms during your stay, you have to take your own rubbish down to the skip bin. Chip board in kitchens are getting very tired and dated.

Well the sad story starts with a late arrival, getting into the room and discovering the kitchen area over run with cockroaches. Pick up the phone to call night manager and a flurry of new cockies, cockie poo and stench indicate they didn't just arrive, nor is the cleaning better than perfunctory. Asked to return to the lobby where the manager would meet me, cooled my heels for 10min before Manager shows up. No "so very sorry about this", rather a curt "what's wrong with the room". Cool the jeels for another period of time during which have decided if the first words from her mouth aren't sorry I'm walking. Sorry it was, upgraded to deluxe room, nice! Except...the thin layer of mold across the bathroom wall, the bathroom vent that has never seen a clean to remove the mold and dirt, the same vent that the "tradesman" who installed should be ashamed of because its about 20mm out of square, the power point that fell out when I removed my phone charger. Some places scream neglect and I don't care. This is one of them.
