The Summit Apartments

We have stayed at Summit a few times now and find the apartments roomy, airy and well equipped. Free car parking at the hotel and very well priced for the location. An easy walk to the hospital - even after surgery! And easy access to the CBD by bus (the stop is at the front of the hotel) or taxi (about $7 each way). The staff have always been as accommodating as they can.

Good value for money. Tempted to give it 4 stars but probably not there. We've been staying here for 3 months now as were in transit between home purchases. Our apartment was perfectly clean when we moved in The rooms are very dated (90s), but colour Co-ordinated and the art work isn't horrible like some other places. The bathroom is more modern/great. Our apartment / 1 bedroom hotel room is pretty big as well. You need to be prepared that Concierge downstairs is not operating at night time. The staff downstairs are all lovely (one grumpy older lady) Location is great. Almost right in the city but not quite. It's quiet at night but a 15 min walk to queen st plaza. It's on a hill so you get the very important breeze and the vies are great.

I stayed at gvd xummit apartments when my husband had open heart surgery next door at St Andrews Hospital. Yes the rooms are dated but the convenience was awsome. I was able to visit 3 times a day for just 10 minutes each time. We are staying there again at the end of the month as we have to see drs once again at St Andrews. As long as the rooms there are clean i dont care if they are old. Value for money. A nice walk to gbe CBD.

Did not even stay at this hotel, but when inquiring on rooms over the phone, the receptionist told me the price of the rooms. When i mentioned we were booked into St Andrews Hospital, the price went up on the last two nights, from $169 to $227! when i asked if this was the best possible price, if so i'm sorry but this is too expensive, the lady said oh... and hung up the phone. Terrible service, do not mind if the price is too high and they are polite but hanging up the phone is not acceptable

Their service deserves no star at all, a zero star Rooms dated and boring. The Asian old lady at the back office is very rude, has no sense of courtesy, customer service is zero My advice - this place is not worth your cent at all, there are better hotels/apartments just a few blocks from here that will provide outstanding service
