Snowhaven Accommodation

Ohakune is small, so mostly everything is walking distance. Small room, noisy plumbing, could hear the screaming tap next door, which woke us up. Wifi was non existent ,kept dropping out, couldn't watch the TV without constant restarting, we gave up. Shower had a repair patch on floor, Which didn't affect its use, but looked abit yucky. It's due for a refresh/renovate. Parking was good tarseled driveway, which motorbikers like. We hate gravel. Ate at Rice, recommend the food there, very very good.

Everything you'd need, I'd stay here again for a longer stay. Little aged but still a great place. Good size, nice beds, clean, parking available. Great location. Walkability: Pretty much smack bang in the middle of town, lovely path to the park along the stream, right at the back of the motel.

The bathroom is not clean, can’t find where to post the photos. Mattress on the bed is wrecked and can hear broken springs when you move in it. Dining chairs wrecked and about the break. Location is great, but room is small and no privacy curtains on windows, so everyone can see in unless you shut the blinds.

I was a little disappointed with this place. While it’s cheap, our room was very small and awkward. The standard of cleaning is not good - the previous guest’s toothpaste marks were all over the bathroom, and the shower, bathroom floor and other areas were not very well cleaned. It is right next to the highway, which has a surprising number of large trucks so can be a little noisy.

We had the economy studio, double bed with bunks. The girl on reception was nice, the location was great 2 minute walk to the park and to town. The room had the facilities as described however website images gave the appearance the studio was a little more tidy then what it was, bunk beds squeeked if the kids even breathed while on em, there was more ice in the freezer then what was on the mountain. all in all I suppose reasonable room for a reasonable price. Would stay again suits family holidaying on a budget

Easy walk to town centre. Front rooms are very close to the main road. The associated raffic noise can be a drag at night. Otherwise all good.Rooms: 4/5

Room snelt damp, shower had holes in it - probably where the smell was comming from. Was really good non contact check in and out. Carpark very tight Bed very comftable but sleep was ruined by sky light waking me up very early. I would stay again but not without a discount and only if travelling alone instead of with my family.

Short notice booking so the room was a bit pricy for its size. Could get better accommodation for the price I paid for an overnight stay if I had booked in advance. This was an spontaneous trip for me and the wife. Room has a bouncy bed, the pillows are fine. TV has Netflix account logged, so that was a bonus. Ac/heatpump adds more comfort. It has a small countertop with electric stove but we didn't dare cook. It would most likely overpower the whole room. Comes with cutleries and electric kettle. 2 minute walk to the shops, restaurant and petrol station. Best place to stay in when you want to visit Whakapapa Ski Field abt 45mins away or Turoa Ski field. The shower was good. Steady hot water. Toilet is enough for 1 person. It was a contactless check-in, which I think is a-okay from the ongoing covid19 pandemic. Free parking space right next to your room. Overall, i think it's not bad.

Nice bed, would have been nice to have better facilities to make a coffee, and more ventilation in the bathroom. On a plus it was easy to book and close to all the shops.
