Kingsgate Hotel The Avenue Wanganui

Very basic. Our family room was clean and serviceable. Pool was great and their hours are reasonable. Was great to be adjoined to the brewery next door, which did good food as well as good beer.

Reasonably priced accommodation a few blocks away from the centre of Whanganui. The decor is dated and looking pretty tired but the hotel rooms are large and clean. Free wifi. Lots of off-street parking. Helpful and friendly staff.

Was in need of an upgrade with stained carpets & shabby paintwork. It was really hot but they did not have AC , only provided a fan which only circulated warm air.

Had dinner there. Meal selection was great and the food was well presented. Staff were very helpful, pleasant and smiley to deal with. Restaurant wasn't open, so had our dinner in the bar. Craft beer variety was interesting and tasty. Other drinks selection was good too. Awesome!!
