Extremely poor customer experience. I contacted them for my 1.5 year old daughter for the consultation. Sent through G.P referral 3-4 weeks ago. Followed up several times for the update, they came up with all the reasons to not care and provided with excuses like doctor is reviewing it, sometimes short staffed but then ultimately said sorry we don’t accept patients of that age. Classic case of keeping the customer in the loop of we care for you but actually not caring. Extremely bad Customer service. Wasted so much time!!

My GP provided me with two options for seeing a dermatologist for a specific concern, which led me to the Skin Specialist Centre in Remuera. Their prompt outreach based on my GP's note was promising.nnDuring my first consultation with Dr. Wong, I found the engagement lacking in substance. Despite my GP's advice to ask plenty of questions regarding the cosmetic work I wanted, Dr. Wong's responses felt patronising and only superficially insightful. This did not instill much confidence in me for the next stage of potential treatment, thus delaying treatment for two months.nnOn the day of my first appointment, the staff were approximately 15 minutes late, which is not ideal for private healthcare. While the two staff members who attended to me were polite, and the primary specialist who was conversational with me made a lot of clarifications which did give me confidence, I couldn't help but feel they were neither warm nor welcoming, which is a significant factor for me choosing any healthcare provider. Overall, the environment at the center did not feel very inviting or personable.nnHowever, I must commend Amber, with whom I corresponded over email, and the receptionist, Annike. They are a testament to making the centre feel like a nicer place to be.nnI will continue to visit the centre for my succeeding treatment, and hope that my experience improves. If it does, I will update this post out of fairness and transparency. If not, I may have to look at other options with my GP.

The surgery to remove a sun spot from my face was quick and painless, and the staff made me feel completely at ease throughout the process. The aftercare advice has been excellent, and I'm pleased with how well the scar is fading and healing.nnDr. McKerrow's honesty and transparency about procedures are commendable - both he and his team even try the procedures themselves, which instills confidence. My only regret is not getting this done sooner!nnA word of advice to others: I wish I had known earlier how important sunscreen is. Dr. McKerrow really instills this in his patients. Don't make the same mistake I did!nnOverall, I highly recommend Dr. McKerrow and The Skin Specialist Centre for anyone needing medically qualified dermatological care. They are truly skin specialists.
