Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Room was spacious, clean and even though it was facing the street, it was surprisingly quiet. The restaurant and room service food were delicious. And to top it up, the staff, especially Sheila and Nicole, were very friendly and accommodating. Amenities were topped up. They even changed the type of tea available - probably because they thought I might not have liked the ones that were provided initially. Thank you for making my stay enjoyable. Would definitely stay here again - business or leisure.
This was my first time visit to the Scenic Hotel and not impressed at all. I often travel to Dunedin for work, and this would not be my first choice for the following reasons: -nService at front desk with room service was good. However, the room itself was disappointing. Room was not clean - See attached photo of nails on the floor. Bed was not properly made up when I returned to the room. Tried using the iron but this was not achievable because it was not clean - Sticking to my shirt. Shower facilities was also not cleaned. I travel constantly for the business and comparing this to other places I have stayed - This is really not good value. I understand some hotels are not new and modern but could be well maintained and clean.
Just stayed there this weekend for 2 nights from 23rd August to the 25th. Staff are amazing and friendly the room is nice and big with everything you need, I even had a sea view. Location was great right on the main street could walk everywhere loved it. If you're expecting a 5 star hotel go book a 5 star hotel, some of the reviews are hard on this place. Bang for buck a very affordable nice clean hotel they came and cleaned my room on the 2nd day bed made , fresh towels , coffee and milk replaced. I would stay here again on my next trip to Dunedin... Very cool town
Room was nice enough, nothing special but nice & clean. Good view, comfortable chairs & king size bed.nnRoom service food was good. We had the whole soul with potatoes and salad.nnWhen we arrived they didn't have our booking and it took nearly an hour for this to be sorted. Unsure if it was an Agoda issue or this hotels issue as both were blaming each other.nnThe parking is also issue at this property. The ad for this property didn't say there is only limited parking so when we arrived they had no parking left. After a bit of too and fro they found us a parking spot for $25/night.nnIf you need parking, ensure you request & pay at time of booking to avoid having to unload your car then go and find a parking spot in this busy city and then walk back to hotel a pain, specially if its wet and foggy like it was last night. If you arrive after 4.30pm, the parking on the street is free until 9am so if you want to take the chance of getting one on the street that's the go.
Great experience, friendly staff and very accommodating. :nThe location and staff really make this experience great.nReally close to central Dunedin restaurants. etc.nNothing standout about the rooms, but they are up to standard.nWould stay again.
