A delightful heritage hotel so close to the city CBD. A little bit of luxe in Dunedin with quality fittings, comfortable beds and NZ made amenities. Love the nod to its Scottish heritage with a tartan wool blanket on every bed. Also highly recommend in-house dining at The Press Club. The food and service was exceptional.
The Fable has the best team in the country. Outstanding customer service, kind, friendly, natural and genuine. Everyone will go above and beyond to make your stay great. The location is ideal, rooms are luxe. The Press Club is also fantastic, delicious food, impeccable hospitality. Don’t go to any other hotel in Dunedin if you appreciate being looked after as a person not a room number.
Romano and Charlotte were absolutely class! Regardless of being a lovely hotel near central Dunedin, there was a slight issue with our room. When the staff couldn’t solve the issue the staff incredibly kindly and most unexpectedly upgraded us to a suite. An all together 5 stars experience where customer service was second to none. Thank you for giving the two of us such an unbelievably special experience, Romano and Charlotte, you made Dunedin a core memory.
The worst accommodation experience ever. The room assigned to me faced the street, so I only managed four hours of sleep; I was woken up just after 6 a.m. by the noise of passing traffic. I will never book this hotel again. It claims to be a five-star hotel, yet there was absolutely no service to speak of. It really ruined the holiday mood.
Centrally located hotel with a decent bar, very comfortable rooms, and wonderful staff. It may be missing a few things - a gym/pool would be nice - but the quality of the rooms and service make up for this. The folk on the desk and behind the bar couldn't have been more helpful. Some decent wines available by the glass, and their happy hour is good for a hotel. Centrally located, within five minutes of most of central Dunedin
