Fairly basic hotel central city. Good parking available. No complaints on service. Very nice restaurant on ground floor. Breakfast was OK, except was let down by only having instant available.
Fantastic location and that's where the good endsnGreeted by a unhelpful person behind the desk..nNo parking availablenThe rooms look like backpacker dorms, and I have stayed in better backerpackers for a sixth of the price.nBathrooms tiny, dark and datednFan in the bathroom didn't turn off so hummed all night.nOverpriced, with a no care attitude.
My last experience in Hamilton VR Hotel wasn’t the greatest and very outdated. We decided to try The Ramada as it is well known world wide. To be honest, it wasn’t much better, and the definition of a studio apartment definitely varies from hotel to hotel. What was listed on booking.com as features was not the same when we arrived there. There was a really small counter top space for a kettle and some tea and coffee and a fridge. We were happy to know the upon arrival there was also a microwave as well.nnThe was no view in our apartment, and there was all bright lights in the room or 2 small bedroom side table lights with no in between.nnWe were glad to have a parking space but that was also an additional fee as well.nnGood location overall and check in process was really easy and simple.nn1 out of the 4 pillows were decent quality and puffy.nnToilet paper was actually not nice at all…. Small issue, but at the very minimal that’s something I would be spending my money on for customers experience.nEveryone gotta poop you know!
We stayed in room 205. While small, we were there for one night so could put up with it. The small room very quickly heated up, with the window unable to open we used the aircon. To quickly find water dripping down the wall and it blowing straight on you while you slept, however you couldn't not have it on if you wanted to breathe. queue now being sick.. You got one pillow and it was awful. The light from the aircon, the hallway being right there and the top of the curtains made it hard to sleep. The shower was basic, but only had the cheap squeeze all in one body/shampoo/conditioner and the sink so small you wet the bathroom trying to wash your face, or I guess you could smack your head on the shelf above. I won't blame them for the noise from the rugby supporters but all together made it the worst hotel stay I've ever had. And the pictures below in other reviews showing the old matress, was the same as our room. We also couldn't park as it was little and full and paid parking was all taken, we had to park up the road. I don't usually write reveiws like this, but when I let management know about the aircon dripping thinking why would they want water dripping down the wall causing damage I was told 'yes I already have that noted down' - Yet they've done nothing about it?? Great location, but I'll go up the road next time.
