Rooms are run down curtains are old and shabby skirting coming off bathroom is old and worn down . Could do with a rebuild. But has done well for emergency housing . Only thing best is the neighbour's and staff and the freekn location. Other then hotel status 1star.
OK.. Yes it's dated... But read on!!nnIt's not a 4 star, but it's def not a 3 star, it would be closer to a 4 star, so as the choice is between 3 and 4... It gets a 4.nnI would and will stay here again.nnIn short, if all you want is a pristine new room, with flawless paint, new bathroom and all that guff.. Probably look somewhere else. If you can handle it being clean and tidy, but a bit older... I'd say this is the place to stay in Hamilton.nnBut, I've stayed in a lot of hotels in Hamilton, this is the one I would try coming back to.nnDated and worn or not, it's clean and tidy, it has aircon!! So I could sleep. Very quiet.nnThey go the extra mile, I arrived to a coke, chocolate bar and bag of chips... I am used to a chocolate or biscuit, this was a pretty cool touch!nnHaving a desk to work at... Awesome!!nnThe toiletries included a toothbrush and toothpaste! Cool touch, I have infact forgot my toothbrush on occasion. Not this time, but great touch!nnIn Hamilton, it seems common to get a small bottle of non UHT milk... So much better than a couple of 15ml UHT plastic things that you use up with one drink. This place has that too.nnThis place has decaff coffee?? I have never seen that in any hotel, I mean.. I don't drink decaff, but that is a awesome touch I feel.nnCheck in experience was great, the lady even walked me to my room. I can't emphasise enough how easy check in was. This is how Hotels should be. So often I'm at the end of a day's driving, getting to a hotel and jumping through hoops to get access to my room. Not here, I was in my room minutes after arriving! Epic!nnThey have indicated they are going to refurbish in another review, that's cool, I'll be booking here regardless when working in Hamilton from now on, because I want comfortable, quiet and easy. And this place achieves that and includes some extra details to make it feel special.nnThe Internet was a little spotty, but I've had far worse at far more expensive hotels, got my work done fine on the laptop.nnHandy to have a dairy across the road.nnTV upgrade would be good. I feel like so many motels have missed the chrome cast revolution, that said, I carry my own because it's so common for it not to be available.
Oh dear, this may have once been a great place to stay. But now run down and worn, the flooring in the bathroom and kitchenette is old and has shunk from the walls shower curtains are old and unhygienic, the skirting boards are rotting in places, and the paint on the ceiling is peeling off and missing in patches. Having the kitchen double as the vanity is not the best idea. Having the jug and microwave next to you is again not the most hygienic. The kitchenette cupboards are worn and rotting along the bottom edges.nIn the main area, the bed was big and comfy, but an old computer desk and outdoor plastic chair, well yeh! The single armchair was filthy with dirt encrusted arm edges.nThe restaurant does not operate.nThey do social housing, so it was noisy with a domestic argument on the second night there.
Kind and friendly staff. Clean and tidy rooms. Great room services. Best hotel ever .
For the price of booking a night of stay—I was very impressed with Abbots Hamilton Hotel and Conference. Wasn’t too noisy at night and the off street parking seems mostly safe.
