Fun and informative. The corn cooked from the geyser was really good. The tour guide was friendly too. Recommended
Amazing place to visit! Cultural, too. If you book in advance, you can take part in a heritage ritual and see a performance of song and dance. Also, there is a fantastic buffet, including traditional foods. It's a very comprehensive menu.
It is said to be the largest geyser on the southern hemisphere. Post covid entry has changed. Basically, everyone is forced to buy guided tours, which is not exactly needed. The guided tour takes about 90 minutes. However, one can stay as long as they like after the guided tour. Visit to the Maori school of art and culture is great for learning Maori carving skills. There is also a small zoo with 2 kiwis. If one is lucky enough, they may see both.
Always interesting to see this part of the park, could spend ages here just watching the geyser and steam vents.
Biggest natural geyser in New Zealand! We weren't able to see the biggest one go off, but it was still a joy to see the other ones! Definitely worth a visit!
