Such a huge selection of ice creams that they can serve in a cup, cone, turn into a milkshake, or a thick shake. Iconic place that has been around for decades. Also has a few savoury food options that I haven’t yet tried. Retro vibes. Only wish that they had more staff on to cut down the wait times during peak Saturday evening times.
Best place for ice cream and thickshakes. Tons of unique flavours like Rainbow, Candy Cane, Gold Rush, and Choc Nut Fudge. Skip the fried food though and just come for dessert!
Yum yum yum. 15 dollar large banana split is too much for two people. What a deal! Staff are friendly as well. Good vibes at this place.
Ice creams were ok. The attitude of the staff were very poor and me and my wife felt quite unwelcome. One of the staff didn't even wait for me to finish the order and went to the next customer. Overall, very unsatisfactory customer service.
No music, dirty tables, with crumbs and leftover food from previous people. No atmosphere, staff was nice and the thick shakes were good, but unable to trade fries for wedges, no process to trade a drink up to get a zero sugar variation. chips were undercooked and burgers didn't taste very nice. The way this place runs its menu is designed to make you pay more for less.
The people working there are quite unenthusiastic, pushy, unwelcoming and customer service was not the best. No rubbish bins inside too. The workers are probably more enthusiastic chatting in the back than serving customers waiting. However, the ice cream were quite good. They run out of popular ice cream flavours so try to come in earlier but the rocky road one was delicious : The price was higher than what it probably is worth but overall 4/5
Went there on great recommendation from my grandma, don’t know what she was talking about at all because I had a very underwhelming meal. The least effort put into the food and drinks as possible. Great if you like flat coke, freezer burnt ice cream, unsalted half raw wedges and paying 7 bucks for a hot dog worse than a sausage sizzle. Very awkward place.
Ollie's is a Royal Oak institution... Burger joint but I think that most people visit for their Ice-Creams... Really nice staff, great selection of flavours and reasonably priced... I recommend: waffle cone normal cone available which is cheaper, two scoops of your choice of Ice-Creams can be different flavours and to top it off old-school chocolate dip, I've never gotten a small portion their Ice-Creams are always sizable a bit drippy though but thats Ice-Cream for you, and have a napkin around cone and for this lovely treat or dessert you'll get change from $10 costs about $8 as I recall... Only thing is that you'll probably have to queue up popular night and day have queued on a Sunday night about 10pm for Sunday night dinner Ice-Cream desserts and it been about 10 deep, popular for a reason and it has been for years... If you're near Royal Oak or an old-school Ice-Cream fan I think that you'll be happy... 5 stars...
Yummy chips and ice cream when we visited. Great service too.
I honestly found the staff very kind and accomodating. Place was clean and I did not notice any flies. The ice cream and burgers/fries were all good! Would def go back, don't let the bad reviews stop you from trying this place.
