New World Remuera

This is one of my local supermarkets, and unfortunately almost every time I’ve gone through the checkouts the check out staff have come across as rude. Eg just tapping on the eftpos machine when I have to pay instead of saying anything, feeling like they don’t want me to come to their till, or a handful of times I’ve gone through checkouts they have not even acknowledged me and kept talking between themselves. I get people have off days and are tired but this has happened almost every time I’ve gone through checkouts which is quite disappointing and not the best shopping experience.

not one to leave a review but weirdest customer service ever all the staff were in the worst mood, asked for help finding stuff and the lady didn’t care at all. Was pretty much ignored when it got to the checkout. So strange. I too work in customer service so i know what it’s like but this was just strange.

Not my usual supermarket, but went to buy some fish in a pinch. Picked up a small tray of snapper with today's date as the packing date. Reduced to clear for some reason. I know why - the filleting was absolutely atrocious. They packed it so that the smooth side of the fillets was facing up but underneath it was like a 5 year old hacked at it. Most pieces didn't smell as fresh as I was expecting. I'd expect much better quality from New World, come on now. The original price for this was $15, outrageous

The Japanese lady who works there super occasionally is the best. She is always helpful. I wish she was on more shifts. I would choose her cashier, as she’s efficient and friendly. The other staff often make stupid mistakes, like rubbing vegetables onto all the moving belt or storage areas like they have no hygiene or manners or hot food on top of the cold food like they have no common sense. Whenever the other cashiers do something dumb I think “that Japanese lady wouldn’t have done that to me, she’s more sensible”. The sausages there are nice because it’s from a butcher that tries hard to make different flavours. They don’t always buy the right drinks in the drink fridge. Wish they had Tararua Coffee…

A bit small but as all the items you need from the supermarket. Good quality.
