New World Remuera

Not my usual supermarket, but went to buy some fish in a pinch. Picked up a small tray of snapper with today's date as the packing date. Reduced to clear for some reason. I know why - the filleting was absolutely atrocious. They packed it so that the smooth side of the fillets was facing up but underneath it was like a 5 year old hacked at it. Most pieces didn't smell as fresh as I was expecting. I'd expect much better quality from New World, come on now. The original price for this was $15, outrageous

Go to Stonefields instead.nAgreed , it is small. Hard to find things. They certainly used alot of space for alcohol!!nThe bakery area is very bad.nI was there at 8 this morning and the tongs and holder was covered in old hard food. Come on New World it's basic hygiene and suspect it's part of your license.

What I experienced was deeply upsetting. The checkout assistants—specifically a group of SouthnAsian women—seemed to selectively offer help packing groceries based on the customer’s skin color. When I approached, they disappeared or ignored me, but I saw them actively assisting others who looked different from me.nnI don’t know if this behavior stems from ego, internal bias, or something else, but it felt discriminatory and unfair. Everyone deserves equal treatment, regardless of race or background. I hope management takes this seriously and ensures that all customers are treated with respect and dignity.nnBy the way I am also a South Asian.

A bit small but as all the items you need from the supermarket. Good quality.

Today I went to New World Remuera to buy something, and I was falsely accused of not paying. The security guard warned me with a very rude attitude and even took a photo of my passport without any police present. He threatened me and told me I was not allowed to enter New World again.nnIf I had really stolen something, he should have called the police, not treated me so unreasonably and aggressively.nnIs it just because I look Asian?nPlease don’t come to this New World anymore.nThis is the worst experience I’ve had in my three years living in New Zealand.
