Excellent central location, a short walk to the pier and shops. Bus, tour, excursion pickup just at the corner.nStaff was so professional and courteous.nExpansive wide open ‘great room’ common area with fireplaces and nice Mountain Views.nFacility and rooms were very clean and up to date. Free breakfast available which was very good. Beds were comfortable with multiple pillow options. We had a one bedroom suite with a fully equipped kitchen and living area. Couch was a bit too firm for our comfort. Bedroom was comfortable; dressing area/ bathroom really spacious.nComplementary Afternoon iced teas were tasty and refreshing!nThey had a nice varied menu with generous portions and all of the dishes that we had were delicious.
We stayed here for more than 3 days including Lunar New Year, and were impressed by the hotel’s artistic front porch, but our stay had several issues. There were misarranged rooms for our tour group, and one staff member, who appeared Asian, treated us rudely as we were unclear that the rooms are too small for three guests. Although we are Asians from different countries, we felt the attitude was unfair.nnMost of us ended up on second-floor rooms with no scenic views, and even as IHG members, upgrades were not possible. The beds were soft but too warm, and the bathrooms and breakfast were decent but not exceptional.nnOn the positive side, the front porch offers great views of the gondolas, and the shopping streets are just a 10-minute walk away. Overall, the experience was underwhelming despite a few highlights.
The rooms are clean, well-equipped, and new. As a heads up, there are frosted glass partitions separating the bathroom from the bedroom. This may not be a problem for many but could be upsetting to some. The breakfast is included in the cost. It is limited in choice and not the highest quality. If you need a good breakfast to start your day, I would skip it and walk into town. If you are good with weak coffee and toast, it's your sport. There are a few other food options like cereal, yogurt, and scrambled eggs. There is insufficient parking for guests but staff will help you identify street parking. Street parking can be a bit of a ways off, but you can generally park at the hotel for 10 minutes to deal with luggage and then move the car. The staff were friendly and professional. The location is very convenient.
My parents and I had such a wonderful experience at the Holiday Inn Express! From the moment I walked in, the entire team was incredibly warm, welcoming, and genuinely pleasant. A special shout-out to Olivia at reception, she was absolutely AMAZING! Friendly, helpful, and so patient, she truly set the tone for a great stay.nnBut honestly, every single staff member I encountered was SOOOOOO lovely! You can really feel the positive energy and care they put into their work. It made my stay comfortable, easy, and so enjoyable.nnThank you to the whole team for going above and beyond. I’ll definitely be returning and recommending this place to everyone!
Nice location, convenient to walk to most attractions in Queenstown, which is important as parking is a big issue there.nParking was not good experience, NZD 25 per day can not be waived, and you have to enroll and make payment online in advance before parking. Sometime it's really hard to find a parking spot as this is a quite small garage compared to the hotel scale.nFree breakfast was awful, very limited options, quality and taste below expectations, etc.nRoom was nice, we were upgraded to a suite, very comfortable, nice mountain view, convenient small kitchen, well-designed bathroom. But the bathroom has no ventilation fan, which seems surprising.
