I recently enjoyed a stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Queenstown, where I was impressed by the modern, high-tech design and elegantly simple decor. The breakfast was superb and the lobby’s high ceilings, paired with large windows framing breathtaking views of the gondola, and the mountain, truly enhanced the experience! The location is ideal for exploring, with a pleasant walk to town via the scenic Queenstown Garden Way despite a steeper direct route. However, one area of concern was the bathroom. The glass door, although stylish, lacks sufficient opacity, compromising privacy by allowing translucent view into the shower area, and it also presents a health and safety risk by easily pinching fingers when closing. Despite this drawback, the overall experience remains outstanding and well worth a visit!
To All the Amazing Staff,nnThank you so much for making our stay truly unforgettable. Every moment spent here was filled with warmth, comfort, and genuine hospitality. From the friendly smiles at the front desk to the impeccable service throughout our stay, everything exceeded our expectations.nnThis has truly been one of the best experiences we’ve ever had at a hotel. Your attention to detail, kindness, and dedication to making guests feel at home did not go unnoticed.nnWe leave with beautiful memories and a heartfelt appreciation for everything you've done. Keep up the incredible work — we can’t wait to return!-Aajeevan
Stayed for a week for a birthday getaway. The majority of the staff were super helpful and pleasant, the buffet breakfast was great, and the room was super comfortable for 2. The only thing letting this hotel down is the poor housekeeping we weren’t given any toilet paper despite staying for 5 nights - we had to ask reception for more! and the lack of actual room service: food had to be picked up from reception and was served in takeaway boxes - with bamboo cutlery. Better to just order UberEats. A bit ridiculous for a hotel.
We stayed at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Queenstown for just one night June 28–29, 2025, and it turned out to be one of the most disturbing hotel experiences we’ve ever had.nnThe morning after our stay, my wife developed over 10 red, swollen, and itchy bite-like marks on her legs and arms. As a medical doctor, I found the pattern and progression of the lesions highly consistent with insect bites, likely from within the room or bedding.nnWe reported the issue immediately, but the on-site manager simply stated that no insects were seen and that they couldn’t help further. We received no follow-up or concern from hotel management. We also incurred additional costs sending our clothes and bags to a professional sanitation service to prevent possible infestation.nnI have documented the skin reaction in detail and will be sharing photos here. While we respect that issues can occur even in well-managed properties, the complete lack of accountability and follow-up from both the hotel and IHG is unacceptable.nnWe do not leave negative reviews lightly, but guest safety and hygiene must be taken seriously—especially from a global brand. This review is shared in the hope that other travelers are aware and that the hotel will take more responsibility in the future.
I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Queenstown, and while the location is fantastic, the hotel itself leaves much to be desired.nnFirst off, Queenstown is absolutely stunning, but the hotel has an odd vibe that just didn’t sit right with me. The reception area is essentially in the cafe, which felt a bit disjointed. One of the check-in computers is literally next to the coffee machine, making the whole check-in process feel more like a casual coffee run than a hotel experience.nnParking was another issue. The hotel doesn’t offer enough spaces, so I was advised to park in a nearby residential area and walk back. If you’re planning to stay here, definitely book your parking online in advance to avoid the hassle.nnAs for the location, while the restaurants and shops are conveniently close, be warned that the walk back to the hotel is quite steep. If you have bad knees or any mobility issues, this could be a significant drawback.nnThe buffet breakfast is advertised until 10 AM, but they started packing up early. By 10, they were already closing the food area, even while guests were still trying to dish themselves some food. It felt rushed and unaccommodating, which was disappointing.nnOverall, while the price might be appealing, the experience here wasn’t worth it. If you’re looking for a comfortable stay in Queenstown, it might be worth exploring other options.
