I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Queenstown, and while the location is fantastic, the hotel itself leaves much to be desired.nnFirst off, Queenstown is absolutely stunning, but the hotel has an odd vibe that just didn’t sit right with me. The reception area is essentially in the cafe, which felt a bit disjointed. One of the check-in computers is literally next to the coffee machine, making the whole check-in process feel more like a casual coffee run than a hotel experience.nnParking was another issue. The hotel doesn’t offer enough spaces, so I was advised to park in a nearby residential area and walk back. If you’re planning to stay here, definitely book your parking online in advance to avoid the hassle.nnAs for the location, while the restaurants and shops are conveniently close, be warned that the walk back to the hotel is quite steep. If you have bad knees or any mobility issues, this could be a significant drawback.nnThe buffet breakfast is advertised until 10 AM, but they started packing up early. By 10, they were already closing the food area, even while guests were still trying to dish themselves some food. It felt rushed and unaccommodating, which was disappointing.nnOverall, while the price might be appealing, the experience here wasn’t worth it. If you’re looking for a comfortable stay in Queenstown, it might be worth exploring other options.
Nice looking modern hotel within a 10 minute walk to downtown. Free breakfast was good with limited options. Rooms were quiet yet super small. I booked a deluxe king. There was 1 chair and a tiny table which seemed to be in the way no matter where you put it. There was literally no place to put your things, not 1 drawer in the entire room including the bathroom. I would recommend they reconfigure the open closet area to make a bigger shelf for suit cases. I was traveling solo, I could not imagine if I was sharing the room with someone else. I had to use the floor and kneel to get stuff out of the suitcase which you always need to shut or you’ll trip over it due to the small configuration of the room. Lastly I don’t know why hotels have these glass walls between bathrooms and the bedroom. Remember to have the blackout shades down unless you want others to see you shower from the windows. The shower wall was supposed to be obstructed but they are not. Not a bad place overall, don’t waste your money on a view room. It’s not that great.
Not our usual hotel as the hotel we would usually stay at and had already booked, we found out they had closed but never informed us so this was a last minute rushed booking.nNot disappointed. Good location not far from shops, under ground parking, breakfast though simple was more than good enough to kick the day off. WIFI was fast and free, room was clean, good hot water in the shower. Would happily stay here again.
Very centrally located. Neat clean rooms. Daily housekeeping.nThey have a good breakfast spread. The staff is very friendly and helpful with information.nA good value hotel.nThey don't do room service. But they have a very good restaurant with great food.
May 2025 stay- There are no bedroom slippers and the design of the toilet doesn’t quite make sense to me, it has gaps between the doors hence it’s super cold when i get out of the shower even when i turned off the aircon. Shower screen glass is not totally opaque which can be awkward. We also requested for extra hangers 3 times as we had a long stay and only got it on the third time we asked. Otherwise, i think the room is cozy. Breakfast is standard everyday. Location wise you need to walk down the hill to the central area and walk back up which can be tiring.
