Reviews
The location of this simple hotel just at the lakes edge is excellent. A couple minutes walk and you’re in the town!nThe check in staff were friendly and efficient as well as the concierge and bell hops .nThe rooms are clean and basic, with coffee, tea, sparkling and flat water, a safe, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, the towels were a bit rough. The room did have a small patio with a door that opened onto the center courtyard.nIn the restaurant on the second level, We had a nice welcome lunch and we did have breakfast included. Both were buffet style with a good variety of selections.
Pros: All staff were incredible and went above and beyond to check me into a room close to my family. We arrived early and although our rooms weren’t ready, our luggage was taken to our rooms before we returned. The location is perfect! Close to everything you need.nHousekeeping was impeccable. Freshly made beds and towels daily, without fail.nnCons: The rooms are in desperate need of a refurbishment. The hotel itself is quite dated and could do with a refreshing upgrade. The shower was awkward to step into and water went everywhere.nThe buffet breakfast could have been better, in terms of variety and quality. The in room dining options were not great and the meal I ordered was not enjoyable. The mini bar selections were also disappointing.nnOverall I was happy with my 4 night stay and would choose to stay here again.
This is the perfect location especially if you have a young family as there's a playground cross the road. Despite the location and the many reviews about the staff being friendly the service is rubbish. We've stayed in this hotel 5 times over the last 2.5 years and the service seems to get worse. The reception staff have zero customer service skills. We ordered a taxi for the airport and after waiting 15 mins and going to check the status of the taxi were told it had been cancelled. I would have understood If the front desk was busy and therefore they weren't able to notify us but it was empty. Unfortunately this was just one of the many examples of lazy staff not doing their job. Come here if you want a hotel with great location but if your expecting good service and a decent room for what you pay, you won't get it.
Stayed here several nights and had a very nice time. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable with some nice touches like a clothes drying string to use in the bathroom, a heated towel warming/drying rack and a writing desk. The lobby, bar and restaurant area are very nice with lots of windows and overhead glass so it’s light filled bringing the outside in. It feels nice and open.nnThe major pro of this hotel is the location - it’s perfect! It’s right on the small walkway overlooking the lake. It’s quiet and from our room we could see the mountain and the lake. It was easy to walk to nature - to the gardens and trail - or to all the shops and restaurants. So you can’t beat the location. Overall a nice stay.
The Novotel lakeside is the best accommodation location in Queenstown, right on the lake and everything within walking distance, we did not need a car or a bus. The alpine view was great. The housekeeping was incredible and efficient. The buffet breakfast was the best I’ve ever had. The staff were friendly. The bed was comfy. Everything was just great.
