The room was exactly what I was expecting. Clean, good air conditioning, comfy bed, and the shower had good water pressure. The location is good, a quick walk down to the shops and a short bus ride to the airport.nnThe staff were extremely nice and helpful Auckland Ramada needs to send their staff here to be trained! They were horrible!nnThe Coco Cabana restaurant inside the hotel was also surprisingly good.
Stayed here 2 nights in January 2026. This is not the Ramada we find in the US. This hotel is super clean, with spacious rooms, crisp linens, fluffy towels draped over a functioning towel warmer, and pleasant staff. Also the room is well ventilated. For what I paid, I have absolutely no complaints and would stay there again in a heartbeat. It is about 15 min walk to a street with many restaurants, but there is a Mexican restaurant on-site.
The room we had was on floor 1, overlooked Lake Wakatipu - we asked for a room with a lake view. The bedroom was separate to the kitchen/lounge room. Kitchen had 2 hot plates stove, a smaller full size fridge with 2 shelves freezer, microwave, toaster, crockery & cutlery, tea/coffee making facilities. The Restaurant Coco Cabana had small range of evening meals where we dined 3 times. Reception staff and housekeeping staff were good.nParking was under the building, needs to be booked in advance as street parking is limited and very tight spacing between vehicles.nOnly issue was the washing machine/dryer - the dryer did not dry clothes, left them damp - this was raised with reception.
Amazing location - walk to town to get food or shop to your hearts content.nRoom itself was fairly clean. The bathroom design was lacking though. The open bathroom door cut off access to 1/3 of the bathroom so when 2 people are trying to get ready it makes the space really cramped. Perhaps this was just our room though.nStaff were very helpful and always gave us coffee bags when needed! The cafe on the first floor had delicious offerings too.
Great location but way too expensive for what it was.nnWe decided to stay here purely based on location and the fact that we had stayed before a few times and it was clean and tidy. It's reasonably quiet and not far to walk into town and right on the public bus route. There is nothing flash or amazing about this place, it's a very basic hotel charging high Queenstown prices. The shower was great, good pressure!nnThe room really needs some lamps or dimmed lighting at the bedside tables or above each person's sleeping spot.nThe price per night for such basic amenities is astronomical.nThe bathroom fan is extremely loud and you cannot switch it off despite a switch on the wall suggesting otherwise.nnThere was also a coffee plunger in the room without any suitable coffee for it, not sure what that was for. The coffee provided daily was only enough for one person, not what you'd expect given the cost of the stay.nnThe shampoo/conditioner/shower gel looked like they were a nice brand but they were quite watery, as if someone had watered them down.
