Hotel with lake view rooms which is a little dated in parts and could do with some updating. Room was ok but nothing exciting, mattress was far too soft and toilet quite squashed in the bathroom. Rooms in level 2 of block 1 are not accessible via lift so required stairs for our suitcases. Fine for us but others would struggle. We had a lake view and mountains too. WiFi really not good occasionally slow and would also drop out. Surprised to find that hotel bar shut at 9pm. Despite older building noise carried from adjacent rooms at times. On the plus side the TV had plenty of sport choices and the secure parking at $15 a night was reasonable. Plenty of accommodation choice in Queenstown.
Traveling to Queenstown, NZ has always been on my bucket list for years now and when I got the chance to finally go there in September, I couldn’t find any other place to stay but at Copthorne Hotel Lakefront. The hotel is close to the city centre and can easily walked from.nnThe hotel was clean and the room I stayed in offered an exceptional view. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to stay for the full duration of my booking, as my father passed away while I was in Queenstown and I had to return home sooner than planned.nnWhat stood out most during this trip were the people who supported me during such a difficult time and ensured I was assisted to the best of their ability. Thank you, Jackie and CK. Your understanding, empathy, and genuine concern truly stood out and made your hotel not just a place to stay, but a venue with a heart.
One of the best places I’ve ever stayed! The location is perfect so handy and with a stunning lake view. Whether it’s a sunny day or a rainy evening, the view and atmosphere give you the most beautiful, relaxing feeling.nnA huge thank you to the amazing staff, especially Duty Manager Bella and her wonderful team: Jacqui, Donna, and Maiko. They made our stay truly unforgettable with their kindness and top-notch service.nnI can’t wait to find another opportunity to fly back and stay here again! The top management is so lucky to have such an incredible crew on board. Thank you all for your wonderful hospitality and warm customer service! XXX
Overall, it was a comfortable stay. The bed was comfy, it was quiet and had a really lovely view of the lake and mountains from the room. It was also only a 10min walk to the town center which was really handy!nnA couple of things pushed the star rating down. The room was quite tired, like the wallpaper was peeling and dings and scuffs all over the walls. The bathrooms have no fans so they get very wet. Had to pay for parking which was $15 per night. Yes, we could park on the street for free, but considering how busy Queenstown is, that would be impossible. The internet was also VERY bad in the evening. Basically unusable. I expected a little more when spending $360 a night. The room was worth $200 at best.nnIt wasn't bad, just not worth the money.
Air conditioning can't cope with 20 degrees Celsius.nStayed here in a corner room facing south west and we couldn't cool the room down! It was only 20 degrees outside, but 30 in the room. We had to open a door and window and run 2 fans to get it down to... 25 degrees. Given it was early January, that meant we had light streaming in at 7pm when we were trying to get our toddler to sleep.nCalled reception and the only thing they could do was bring a second fan for us.nThe rest of the room was fine and it's a good location. But I wouldn't stay here again with a toddler. They need to get their air conditioning fixed.
