Child Sister

A solid cafe with some great atypical menu items for Christchurch! The place was packed when we went it always seems to be busy, but the service was great you have to order at the counter, and so fast! The coffee is excellent, staff are friendly and efficient and the food is delicious. You can see why Child Sister is an award winning cafe. Well worth a visit.

The kimchi rice is a must try. Full of flavours, spices, and goodness.nMy partner said the muffin was the best he’s ever tried nSuper lovely staff, all smiling, and having fun.nThe coffee was average.

Very cool place to have brunch. Busy and not the best service but the food was delicious. Would love to come back here. Portions a little on the small side.

In my opinion this place is overrated. Both the food and drinks are average. I heard so many people rave about this cafe and it’s always busy but it’s not worth the hype. There are better options in Christchurch, this is just another good café. My friends enjoyed the kimchi omelette, I didn’t like the fried chicken. I visited it a second time and tried the Black cherry ade, it was bland but also kinda tastes like medicine. The breakfast sando was good! I enjoyed it but it wasn’t worth 22$ and not filling enough as a meal. Another friend said the coffee and eggs bene are good but not great. Overall just a good/average café, not as great as everyone makes it out to be. Also it can get really busy and loud inside, i wouldn’t recommend sitting by the entrance.

Coffee was lovely. Kimchi rice was good! Poached eggs were not runny and were served cold as well as the tomato.
