Excellent facilities at the center of the City and a very valuable place for Aucklanders, students, kids and the public. Lots of books, reading materials, research areas, kids area , citizens help and many more. This place is core to the community and knowledge in Auckland.
The helpful staff made our experience even greater than the beautiful library already had. The 'busy room' - a noise cancelling room - allowed us ample seclusion to get our work done.
The best library I have ever visited. What a friendly staff. If you can go there, at least visit one time.
It was worst experience with Auckland libraries. The staff were so cold and showed no sympathy to the people. All I asked was if I could return the books to the library close to my home and I could take the book I requested for my daughter. The answer was we give you 24 hours to bring books back here, we only hold 24 hours for you. We’ve been so many different libraries across Auckland. We never had this kind of attitude and service. Definitely, won’t come back for another time.
Auckland Central City library has a large selection of books which is good. I enjoy autobiographies and environmental books. At the moment I'm reading Move - how mass migration will reshape the world and what it means for you by Author Parag Khanna. As a University graduate myself, any library books I read enhances my precious University of Auckland Arts degree in history and media. I use the free computers for an hour a lot lately as I've been waiting on more money to purchase a new computer. The staff are friendly, good security, clean toilets and an excellent filtered water station. The new refugees in Auckland use this library a lot for English classes adapted to their second home country offering their only security. A citizens advice bureau upstairs for problems. Auckland Central City library means a lot, books are staying power. Highly recommend.
