Uni Bike Shop

Rude service, they will only help you if they can easily fix your bike. Don't be fooled by the other reviews, most of them are old-time customers and have developed tight relationships with the owners. As a new customer, I received a very rude treatment and no help was given to the issue that I had. I do not recommend this Bike Shop.

not trustworthy. A rear tire they replaced for me split within a year. I took it back to get replaced (at normal cost to me - fair enough), and the day I got it back, my chain was bouncing against the frame. Seems to me like the most likely thing was they'd somehow messed something up when replacing my tire. I took it back to get fixed, on top of a general service, and was told a screw on the rear derailleur was rusted and needed replacing. I told them I thought it was odd that this rear derailleur mishap happened on the exact same day I got the bike back from them (after they played with the back wheel to replace my rear tire) and the guy (young guy) just shrugged. What a coincidence. They also didn't think to keep the screw to prove to me what had supposedly happened. When I got the bike back after the service (i.e. the 2nd time), my brake hood had come loose, the shifting was dodgy, and the handlebars were crooked. Seriously...crooked handlebars! You're a bike shop! It's not hard! Sloppy, negligent and very possibly deceitful. Only thing saving me from giving it 1 star is that prior to these 3 experiences, things had been positive for me. Spend your money elsewhere - don't reward these guys with your business.

I ordered a part on Monday and was told it would arrive the following week... next week I ring on Thursday and get told the part will arrive on Tuesday... Tuesday comes around and apparently all the deliveries haven't arrived because of uni graduations. I know that kind of thing can't be controlled but it's pretty poor when you are waiting weeks for a single part that you could have bought online and got in two days. Makes you wonder why bother going to a bricks and mortar store. In all other respects the shop is fantastic hence the rating, good selection and really friendly guys... just don't bother ordering a part that's not in store.

Fantastic service, went over and above fixing a complex problem with my Shimano Alfine gear hub. Highly recommend these guys. *Not an old-time customer, no previous affiliation with anyone in this store/workshop.

I have been dealing with Jeremy & Gav at the Uni Bike for the past 5 years. They are great at doing their job on advising on bike purchases and they great after sales service. All ways helpful along with their team - most of them are called Jack !!
