I was hesitant to use this place to rent a moving truck (3 ton auto) because of all the bad reviews, but ultimately I had little choice. Overall the experience went very well.

Some negatives: I was starting to book online and was confused about some pricing so I phoned the number, only to be given a cheaper quote than online. Why not have the same pricing regardless of booking? Another problem is that you get charged $750 deposit if you pay with visa debit card. There was no justification why this is higher than the credit card charge ($500), and regardless, this is the most expensive deposit I’ve ever paid for anything. You also get charged massive amounts (thousands) if someone else crashes into you, regardless of fault and severity. They don’t include a trolly or loader without extra charge. You only get 100kms included in the price, so unless you want to fork out more, you can only do relatively small trips (bear in mind the location of the rental is 15kms out of Brisbane central, so you lose ~30kms just getting/returning truck). Finally, they didn’t clearly advertise the fact that RACQ members get 30% discount - easy to miss a savings. 

Positives: the process was relatively straightforward, and getting my deposit back was fast (fortunately I returned the truck in the same condition). The 30% discount for RACQ members made it quite affordable. The 3 ton truck is very spacious, and very easy to drive. 

Ultimately I would use this service again. Advice: check the truck for existing damage very thoroughly before signing the agreement.

Terrible, avoid at all costs. 
Supplied me with a fulty truck,  refused to even speak to me,  wouldn't supply a receipt,  wouldn't explain any charges, 27 phone calls in a week,  continual hang ups. 

They are shocking,  the "manager" Scott is a weak excuse for an employee and cannot handle even the most basic of enquiries. 

Avoid them,  they are the worst!

Really disappointing experience. Staff were unprepared with our order and made us go to another thrifty to get what we has asked for. The whole experience was very expensive and the business model they work off is designed to exploit people. Wouldn't recommend using them for vehicle hire.

Had no issues here with hire car pickup and drop off.The girls working the day i was in office were flatout with customers yet they were polite and professional.The car was clean and in good working order. They even spent the time with me to explain the car features etc .
I am happy to recommend Thrifty at Rocklea.
