Nice cafe very just next to Glenorchy wharf. Hot chocolate and coffee was good and so was the brownie. Limited menu as it's a coffee place primarily.
Stopped in about 15 minutes before close. Loved the look of the full tray of chocolate chip cookies, but was refused service because they “needed enough for tomorrow.” Sadly, I will never know how they tasted. Nor will I consider coming back to try again. Giving it two stars because the husband did enjoy his coffee.
Stopped at Akin for a coffee break on the drive back from High Country Horses, it's a beautiful, quiet little spot with lovely views of the mountains. Sat outside in the sun with beautiful views and had a delicious coffee and honestly the best carrot cake I've ever eaten, I was tempted to ask for the recipe - highly recommend.
Absolutely, the best carrot cake I have ever had, better than mine, which says alot. The coffee too was exceptional.nnWhere it falls short is $10.50 for a slice of cake, that wasnt actually too big... It was good yes, but about $5 more than anywhere else.and we are from Auckland where everything is so expensive!!. The Cafe itself is small and cosy, on this day the weather was awful and the Cafe overcrowded. It's not the cafes fault it rained, but it felt a little unpleasant to squeeze my backside past people's shoulders to fit into the table.
Nice cozy place right next to the Glenorchy lake. The Lemon tea was warm and soothing, loved the falafel wrap & the carrot cake was good too.
