Disappointing experience dining for dinner. Wanted the fish however was told they havent had it in for months ?! One would think they could update the menu if it's "out of stock" that long. They suggested the costly alternative - which was a very costly mistake. Awful, the entire meal was poorly cooked from frozen and tasteless. Putting the food aside, it's a lovely quaint spot to have a drink and I'm sure the staff make a difference. Just wasn't our night, but well worth a visit to Glenorchy!
Good pub food. Get in quick before the tour buses arrive or you'll wait a while for your order. An empty outside area quickly filled when a tour arrived. Food & drinks: Good selection of standard pub fare
Drove out here from Queenstown for dinner mid week, no regrets. The steak I had was perfect, flavor was exceptional. Washed down with a perfectly poured beer and finished off with a apple and rhubarb crumble .
I ordered ribeye steak for 52NZD because I was so hungry. I was thinking they won’t be that bad that could destroy a nice steak taste . I order medium-rare but they make it well done , Jesus Chris 52$ for super dry steak .
I appreciate that this place will feed you given it is the only place open after 4pm but it is truly some of the worst food I have ever had in my life. There is absolutely no reason to seek this place out.
Food was horrible, frozen fish, calamari, chips and prawns. Tasteless, very disappointing. Muscles were also tasteless and so small. Would not recommend.
The only food option available during evening time. Can’t complain much. But my medium rare steak is really over cooked
Big thanks to the whole team at the hotel for personal service even when super busy, good food and drink, good accommodation. Small town hospitality at its best.Rooms: 4/5
We enjoy the drink after finished 3 day’s journey of Routeburn Track. Extremely enjoyable.
